i; Your mobile home hos oll-round insulotion ond double glozing ond is perfectly ,winter-worthy' if used correctly. The woter supply is inside the vehicle on oll models.

i-,'' Proper ventilotion is just os importont in winter os in summer. Ski boots ond other wet items will increose the levelof humidity ond condensotion inside the mobile home.

r = Heoting is of course porticulorly importont in winter. For this reoson heoting is porticulorly importont for wintercomping - the heoters instolled os stondord ore normolly odequote. Quick removol of the woter vopour producedby cooking, wet clothing ond breothing is porticulorly importont for comping in winter. ln oddition to goodventilotion, the heoted oir will ropidly eliminote the woter vopour os worm oir con obsorb much more moisturethon cold oir. With moisture in the oir, the lower the room temperoture, the quicker condensotion will form i[ thereis o slight difference between the temperoture of the room oir ond the temperoture on the inside woll.

i:.- The windows, window fromes ond the corners of storoge lockers ore porticulorly prone to condensotion dependingon use. the number of persons, the site ond the level of humidity both inside ond outside the mobile home.Adequote heoiing of the mobile home with the hot oir blower switched on will improve this situotion.

17.2 Additionol notes on winter comping

Secure the mobile home ogoinst rolling owoy ond then releose the porking broke to prevent it from freezing.

Ploce oll cushions upright in the mobile home to ensure thot they ore oired ond dried.

:-- Use only i00% propone in winter os butone will not gosify below freezing point. Moke sure you hove onodequote supply of gos bottles.

: - Avoid the use of electricol opplionces thot consume o lot of current. Compsites do not hove unlimited omounts ofelectriciiy.

r,= ln cold weother the woter pipes in the mobile home moy freeze if the vehicle is left for long periods with theheoting switched off.

To prevent freezing, droin the wostewoter tonk with the heoting off, pleose refer to Section 10.3.2 ,,Emptying thewostewoter tonk".

The bockup bottery (bottery ll) should be kept fully chorged ot oll times.

r r While heoting up the vehicle, open oll cupboords, flops ond storoge lockers to prevent condensotion forming.

r= Avoid storing contoiners (bottles, cons etc.) with woter, iuice or other liquids in the unheoted mobile home os theymoy freeze.

r-' All snow ond ice should be corefully removed from the roof of the vehicle ond from the owning; it is porticulorlyimportont to ensure thot the flue on the side woll is kept free qt oll times.

i-' Alwoys keep the forced oir vents open, ond open the roof light slightly if required.

This process - known os polyester coil cooting - is o modern, environmentolly friendlymethod of surfoce finishing, which cieotes high colour brillionce ond is extrJmely duroble.

To maintoin the high quol;ty of the finish you should cqre for the poinfwork os described below:

) Solt {neor the coost), soot, bird droppings ond other oggressive substonces should olwoys be removed from ihepointwork of the mobile home immediotely before it is morked.

r2.6 Heoting ond hot woter supply with Alde Compoct centrol heoting

The Alde Compoct centrol heoting system with integroted hot woter heoting is locoted under the reor bed ond is

controlled using the relevont control ponel (see figure 12.3).

The heoters (rodiotors) supplied by o circuloting pump with glycol fluid ore positioned in the mobile home to ensureon even temperoture throughout the interior of the vehicle.Thonks to this efficient centrol heoting system you do not hove to do without the occustomed comfort of o pleosontindoor temperoture in the mobile home - os in your living room.

12.6.1 Functions on conhol ponel of centrol heoting

l. To switch on the centrol heoting in gos mode, open the gos botile stop volve ond opplionce shut-off volve for the

heoting ,, @ " o, the volve block under the kitchen ronge.

2. The centrol heoting is controlled with o slider switch on the control ponel, with the desired room temperoture olsobeing selected ond moniiored vio the control ponel.

AITENTION:Work on the electronic control unit for the Alde Compoct centrol heoting system

should only be corried out by o quolified ond iroined service engineer.

The Alde Compoct centrol heoting system is equipped wiih ionising flome control, i.e. if the flome goes out, theelectronic control unit otiempts to light ii ogoin.

lf the flome does not ignite within l0 seconds ogoin, the solenoid shuts the gos feed off ond blocks the electroniccontrol unit. This process is indicoted bythe red LED lighting up (item G, figure 12.3).When the room thermostot storts up the centrol heoting, i.e. if the temperoture in the mobile home is under the settemperoture, the circuloting pump is storted. This mokes the fluid in the heoting system circuloie, ond cold fluid enters the heoting circuit. The operoting thermostot for the heoting regislers the fluid temperoture, ond the heoting system heots the fluid thotcirculoies through the sysiem.

lf the set temperoture is ochieved, the circuloting pump is switched off.The operoting thermostot registers thot the fluid hos ochieved the set temperoture, ond the heoting unit is switched off.

As soon os the temperoture of the fluid hos dropped o few degrees, the heoting unit is switched on ogoin. This ensures ihot heqied fluid is olwoys running through the heoting circuit if the thermostot is operoting the heoting.

The exponsion tonk contoins q I 2 V circuloiing pump thot distributes the heoted glycol fluid in the heoting system.Afterwords, the circuloting pump is switched on ond off by the room thermostot depending on the heoting requirements.

12.6.4 Exponsion tonk

The exponsion tonk is instolled in the wordrobe. The level of the glycol fluid con be reod off ot the exponsion tonk. This should be opprox. I cm over the,,MlN" mork when the heoting unit is cold (see figure 12.4].

Before filling with new fluid, check the octuol glycol content so thot the glycol concentrotion in the fluid mixtureis not increosed too much.

The glycol mixture should be chonged every 2 yeors since importont chorocteristics such os e.g. corrosion protectioncon deieriorote over time.

AITENTION:The heoting system should never be operoted without glycol fluid.

lf the fluid level in the exponsion tonk drops lower thon with normol condensotion, the entire heoting system must bechecked for leoks.

lf the glycol mixture is leoking out, the offected spot should be rinsed thoroughly with woier ond then dried off.
