Catholic Education Week 2014 begins on Sunday, May 4. The Catholic schools in our parish will engage in a series of events to celebrate the ongoing gift of publicly-funded Catholic education. You

are invited to discover what celebrations are happening in your children’s school and if possible, attend. Publicly-funded Catholic education has existed in Ontario since 1841 and its graduates have served Ontario and Canada very well. The current generation of students in our publicly-funded Catholic schools will serve with the same spirit and generosity as their previous generations. In particular, we invite you to visit St. Francis School on May 6th to take part in our Student-Led Learning Walk. On Thursday, May 8th at 10:00 a.m., we look forward to mass with Fr. Larry at Our Lady of Hope. Please join us in this celebration! Yours in Catholic Education ~ Sandra St. Denis

“C’mon Ma you have got to try it” I pleaded to my elderly Mother. I don’t know how my Mother lasted this long without ever using the internet, but enough was enough! I thought. “Ok” she said reluctantly settling down by the computer and slowly putting on her reading glasses “what do I do now?” “Now I’m going to open the home page of google”, I explained. “OK here it is! Now type in ANY question you want into the bar over here and you will find an answer to your question.” I confidently assured her. My Mother looked at me warily, thought for a second, and slowly began to type, How is Gertrude doing this morning?
