Features & benefits of ARD® R-Series Cone Crushers
5
Note 1: We recommend that the maximum edge length of the largest piece does not exceed the typical maximum top size, with the dimensions in the two other directions not exceeding 75% of the maximum top size stated above. However, the maximum feed size in practice will depend on various factors, including the shape of the feed material.
Note 2: In general terms the maximum operating efficiency of the R-Series Cone Crushers will be achieved with a well-mixed, graded feed from the top size towards the lower end of the feed range stated. It is important that the feed is clean and dry with less than 3% inherent moisture, without clay and other uncrushable materials.
Note 3: The capacities stated are typical only for general guidance purposes and are based on crushing medium strength basalt rock having a loose bulk density of 1.6 metric tonnes/m³ (100lb/ft³) under full choke conditions. Many factors can influence crusher performance such as, but not limited to feed material type, material characteristics, material condition, feed grading, bulk density, method of feed, moisture content and closed side setting.
Note 4: The minimum crusher closed setting will vary on every application and is dependent on the type and condition of the feed material.
Note 5: We recommend that you seek advice from ARD on the application and installation of your R-Series Cone Crusher before making the final selection via [email protected] to ensure that the installation and performance meets your specific requirements.
Note 6: Product gradings are specific to applications. For further details on estimated product gradings please complete the enclosed form, scan it and return it to [email protected]. We will need detailed information on the feed and plant configuration to be able to provide an indication of the ‘output grading’ and a more specific capacity prediction.
Note 7: The performance data provided is for general guidance purposes only and does not constitute a contract.

This mass flow diagram illustrates a four stage hard rock crushing plant using ‘all-in’ feed. This design ensures that all the finished products have passed through the secondary cone crusher in open circuit. The finished product then has to pass through the tertiary crushers until it is reduced to the required size. This uses layered particle attrition to optimise the particle shape of the aggregates.
