More than million square meters of housing are built every year in Yekaterinburg.Cost reducing measures in building and construction, steady increasing of the economy class housing and the development of low-rise building sector are the particularly acute problem for the Sverdlovsk region.
The overall length of the roads in the Sverdlovsk region is 33.8 thousand km, 588 km of which are of federal significance; 11 thousand km of regional significance and 22.2 thousand km of the local significance (including the road network). The main objectives facing the road infrastructure of Sverdlovsk region are improving the quality of road works; reducing costs due to the compulsory expertise of cost estimating and project documentation; implementation of new materials and technologies to increase time between the repairs.
Sverdlovsk region authorities have developed a project of the regional special-purpose program “Development of transport system of the Sverdlovsk region” from 2011 to 2016 years, which includes innovative development of road infrastructure.
The finals of the World Cup 2018 in Yekaterinburg are considered to be the catalyst for the development of transport and logistics system in the region.
