Charming Cotswolds and the Welsh Borders
A chance to explore this beautifularea as we enjoy visits toBourton-on- the- Water andRoman Cirencester, take a tripacross the Welsh Border to thehistoric town of Chepstow andspend time in Gloucester, famousfor its magnificent Cathedral andrestored inland port and docks.
ItineraryThursday: Travel to Cheltenham witha stop for lunch on the way. Therewill be a welcome drink on arrival atthe hotel and maybe time to use thehotel’s leisure facilities beforedinner.
Friday: We take a circular tourbeginning with a morning visit topretty Bourton-on-the-Water beforecontinuing on to the Roman town ofCirencester.
Saturday: Today we cross the borderinto Wales, as we visit the delightfultown of Chepstow, famous for itscastle and old town walls. There areinteresting winding streets, anexcellent museum and lovely viewsover the Wye Valley, as well as shops,cafes and restaurants to enjoy.
Sunday: After breakfast we head into the city of Gloucester, wherethere will be time to see the mainsights and have lunch before wereturn to the hotel via medievalTewkesbury.
Monday: We return to Derbyshire.
