AnthologiesGeneral English courses in universities all over the country require textbooks which contain selections from prose, poetry, drama, short stories and biographies. Such selections cater to the learning requirements of students from science, humanities or commerce streams. We have published titles which cater to the specific needs of students in different universities. This catalogue gives a listhof anthologies published over the years. To develop our treasure trove of anthologies we have collaborated with leading academicians and university departments. The learning units in the books are designed to develop comprehension and language skills in students, while fostering an appreciation of the literary pieces given.
Grammar and Composition Books One of the objectives of teaching a course in English is to enable students to relate meaningfully to the English in their environment. Since grammar is a crucial tool for understanding language behaviour, students are introduced to standard language structures and models in books on Grammar and Composition. Grammatical terms have been explained to help students understand target language items and are followed by guided and free writing exercises where the students get an opportunity to practise newly acquired language.
Communication Skills BooksThe ability to express an idea is as important as the idea itself. Keeping this in mind books on communication skills have been specially designed to cater to the needs of young adults poised on the verge of entering the exciting world of work. The course material designed in this section expose students to the various language skills they are likely to encounter in their efforts to scale the ladder of success. Thus, proprieties of business communication in terms of vocabulary, grammar and expressions are discussed in the lessons. Appropriate paralanguage is also discussed with reference to life-like situations. Students are given an opportunity to practise their newly acquired skills.
