UNION COUNTY UTILITIES AUTHORITY

ANNUAL PUBLIC MEETING DECEMBER 16, 2009

Vice-Chairman Kulish called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m., in the meeting room of the Union County Utilities Authority, 1499 Routes 1 & 9 North, Rahway, New Jersey. Notice of Compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act was read by Joseph C. Bodek, Clerk of the Authority. A roll call of the Commissioners showed the following present: Vice-Chairman Kulish, Acting Secretary Kennedy, Commissioner Badri, Erdos, Huff, Jackus, and Rachlin. Also present was alternate Commissioner Lombardo. Commissioners Absent: Chairman Kahn, Treasurer People and alternate Commissioner Jorn. Other Present: Dr. Garg, Jeff Hummel, Denise Santiago, and Tom Brennan of the Authority’s staff; Ed Trainia of CME; Jonathon Williams of DeCotiis, Fitzpatrick, Cole and Wisler; Kraig Dowd of Weber Dowd Law; Deputy Clerk Lisa Miskiewicz and Clerk Joseph C. Bodek. Also present was Lorenzo Rizze, Business Manager and Alan Harleston, facility manager for Covanta Energy. Vice-Chairman Kulish led the Pledge of Allegiance. Vice- Chairman Kulish appointed Alternate Commissioner Lombardo to act for Commissioner Kahn. Mr. Bodek provided proof of Notice of the meeting. Presentation by Covanta: Annual Public Meeting Vice-Chairman Kulish turned the floor over to Mr. Harleston and Mr. Rizze, who gave a slide presentation (see attached) on the operation of the resource recovery facility during the previous twelve months. There were no questions from the Commissioners Public Comment There were no members of the public present. There being no further business to come before the Authority, Commissioner Jackus moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Badri, and was unanimously ordered approved by a voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Joseph C. Bodek Edward J.
