What reasons do people give for not believing in

God• That was the one biggest reason that

intelligent man gave.

The World is beautiful…

… but also miserable.

How do you explain that?

1) The world is broken because of rebellion

“how dare you create a world in which there is such misery which is not our

fault” (Stephen Fry)

But The Bible says He didn’t!

“And God saw that it was good…And God saw that it was good…And God saw that it was good…”

So where did all the misery come from?

Human rebellion against God.

2) We are part of the rebellion

• All of us naturally treat God like that.

• “how dare you create a world in which there is such misery which is not our fault” (Stephen Fry)

• Answer: God made the world we all want. But we live in the world we deserve because of how we treat the one who made it.

3) God still promises the World We All Want

[God says to the serpent – the devil] “he [the woman’s offspring/one of her

descendants] will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)

So it’s not all bad!
