18 th September 2012 Dear Parent/Guardian Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Kent’s Cavern – 15 th November 2012 As your child is studying Shakespeare’s Macbeth for the English GCSE exam in January 2013 we thought it would be beneficial to see the play and have been lucky enough to have secured tickets for a performance in Kent’s Cavern, Torquay! As the play takes the audience around the underground walkways of Kent’s Cavern, we are limited to 45 tickets which we must allocate on a first come/first served basis. The cost of the performance and transport is £12.50. We believe that seeing the play in such dramatic surroundings will be very helpful to the students’ understanding of this 400 year old text. We will be leaving the Academy by coach at 9.15am on Thursday 15 th November and returning for normal afternoon lessons. Please provide your child with a packed lunch for this day. Those Year 11 students not able to attend (including those students following the English Language and Literature course) will be in lessons as normal. If you would like your child to attend please complete the reply slip below and return to Ray Paffett as soon as possible together with a cheque for £12.50. Yours sincerely Matt Bakewell Director of Learning, Literacy and Language To: Ray Paffett, Dartmouth Academy
