PUC Community Surveys FindingsIntroduction

MethodologyThere were three versions of a community survey created and distributed. The surveys were not created in a vacuum, the Cultural Engagement Taskforce was very involved in the creating and fine-tuning of the questions. The survey for the students was also a collaborative effort with the student representatives in the Taskforce.

Below are the final response rates: Staff and Faculty (Staff n=85, Faculty n=72) PUC Board (n=17) PUC Students (n=93)

Each survey remained opened to the community for approximately 4-5 weeks. It is important to note that the Cultural Engagement Taskforce members each took turns communicating the importance of the survey and inviting the community to participate.

FindingsThe findings have been organized by high-level themes. The survey was intended to test the themes we have heard so far from the community. In addition, the findings also align with the working definition of culture (as defined by the Cultural Engagement Taskforce).

From the foundation of what is truly important to the community members to how they feel about the current leadership, the finds demonstrate hope for a better future and also demonstrate the areas where there are opportunities for growth and improvement.

The findings are presented by themes and respective aligned survey questions. The survey for the PUC Board members as well as the survey for PUC students varied slightly than the survey for the PUC faculty and staff.
