Construction Chutes
Welded Chute Sections
BENEFITS OF THE WELDED DESIGN (The Original Design)
No assembly required. Permanent tubes with the seam welded shut.
Sections stack like coffee cups for easy transport and storage. Fully compatible with all WRAPAROUND® chute sections. Sections are 4 foot high with a 1 inch taper (3 sections required per
10 feet).
US Patent No. DES 328174, CND Ind. Des. 1990 RD 66842
THE TOP HOPPER
• One needed per chute system• The uppermost section• Entry point for debris• Heavy duty construction
DOOR SECTIONS
• Entries for multi-level work• Any number per system • Heavy duty construction• Adjust height using Door Adjustment Kit
REGULAR SECTIONS
• Tube sections• No assembly required• A system consists mostly of these pieces
Wraparound® Chute Sections
BENEFITS OF THE WRAPAROUND® DESIGN
Minimal storage space required. A safe & simple closure system. Opened chutes stack like sheets of plywood. Easily transported in pick-up trucks. Fully compatible with all WELDED sections. Sections are 4 foot high with a 1 inch taper (3 sections required per
10 feet).
US Patent No. DES 328174, CND Ind. Des. 1990 RD 66842, US Patent No. 5472768, CND Patent 2119108, UK Patent 2276151

THE TOP HOPPER
• One needed per chute system• The uppermost section• Entry point for debris• Heavy duty construction
DOOR SECTIONS
• Enties for multi-level work• Any number per system• Heavy duty construction• Adjust height using Door Adjustment Kit
REGULAR SECTIONS
• Tube sections• A system consists mostly of these pieces• No tools required for assembly• Only 1 minute to assemble• Clasp uses 5 easy-grip eyebolts• A dream to store and transport
Wraparounds® leaving the factory are very well crated.
ABLE GATES (OSHA Requirement)
Every Superchute® entry point is equipped with a red Cable Gate.
When the gate is clipped across the section's opening, debris must not be thrown into the chute.
For example: the full container is being changed for an empty one.
top hopper door section
The Cable Gate with mounting hardware (4 blind rivets & 2 stainless eyestraps):
"If there is a problem with the chute, how can I immediately tell workers on other levels to stop using the chute?"
SUPERCHUTE RAPID WARNING TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM
Superchute's Traffic Light System instantly tells workers: "use the chute" or "do not use the chute".
It is a modular low voltage electronic system that easily expands to match the length of chute and number of chute entries.
Examples where this communication is vital to the safety of others:
The full container is being changed for an empty one There is a blockage in the chute Repairs to the chute are in progress
The entire system is watertight & features heavy duty components.
An electrician is not required for installation! All you need is an electrical outlet. Assembles in minutes. No tools required.
COMPONENTS
Pendants (Top and Standard)
Features 1 red LED cluster, 1 green LED cluster, and 1 emergency stop button.
2" wide clusters are protected by tempered glass and stainless steel faceplates.
Uses 24 volts to reduce the risk of electrocution. LED lightbulbs have a lifespan of 100,000 hours. Spare bulbs are easy
to replace. Epoxy powder-coated steel enclosure for maximum durability. 4 wall mount holes per box. 6" wide x 13" tall x 5" deep.
Top Pendant Standard Pendant Small Form Pendant
Small Form Pendant
Features 1 red LED, 1 green LED, and 1 emergency stop button. Uses 24 volts to reduce the risk of electrocution. LED lightbulbs have a lifespan of 100,000 hours. Spare bulbs are easy
to replace. Plastic enclosure. 3" wide x 9" tall x 3.5" deep.
Power Supply
2 models available: 10 Pendants Max, or 33 Pendants Max. Uses 24 volts to reduce the risk of electrocution. LED lightbulbs have a lifespan of 100,000 hours. Spare bulbs are easy
to replace. Epoxy powder-coated steel enclosure for maximum durability. 4 wall mount holes per box. model '10 Pendants Max' measures 9" wide x 6" deep x 12" tall.
Plug-&-Screw Pendant Cords
Plug n' screw cords allows an easy connection from one pendant to the next.
Cable Coupler
FEATURES
A powered pendant will communicate one of two possible signals to workers:
1) A steady GREEN light indicates the chute is functional and ready for use.
2) A blinking RED light means "Danger! Do not use the chute".
Easy access emergency stop button.
INSTALLATION
1. Connect the Power Supply to an electrical outlet near the container.
2. Install a grey Pendant next to each Door Section.
3. Install the yellow End-Of-Line Pendant next to the Top Hopper.
4. Link pendants using supplied 20' Yellow Cables . The yellow cables simply screw into each box.
5. If a longer cable is needed, link 2 or more cables together by means of a Coupler.
USAGE
1. The green light of every pendant is steady on when the system has power.
2. In the event of a problem with the chute, press the emergency stop button of the nearest pendant, or power supply.
3. This will cause the green light cluster to switch off, and the red light cluster to flash on all pendants.
4. In addition, the emergency stop button of the triggered pendant will light up & flash red.
5. Instruct workers beforehand, " If the pendants flash red, then:"
Barricade the chute openings. Do not to use the chute at any entry level until the problem has been
found & resolved.
6. Reset the system to green by releasing the emergency stop button of the trigger pendant.
7. The trigger pendant can be identified by the flashing red emergency stop button.
8. Any emergency stop buttons that were pressed on other pendants will also flash red, and must be released to reset the system to green.
NTRY COVER FOR TOP HOPPER SECTIONS
ENTRY COVER FOR DOOR SECTIONS
Entry covers physically block off the entry hole, and can be padlocked.
The close-out is comprised of two pieces that interlock with a tab.
The top piece is bent over on both sides to cap the top of the door opening, whereas the front Piece covers the entry area.
CONTAINER CORD
Superchute® Container Cord is provided with every chute order (no charge). The cord is used to attach the chute’s discharge end to the container or dumpster. If a full container is accidentally driven away with the chute still attached, the cord fails, thus freeing the chute. Other cords & ropes have tremendous strength, and are unlikely to fail, which would result in the chute being pulled from the building. Container Cord is also availble for purchase. The 20' lengths are tagged with instructions.
In this photo, taken minutes after a fire began, flames move through a competitor's debris chute, making their way from the trash dumpster to the wooden building under construction. The building was destroyed by the fire.
If the contents of this container had been kept wet, the subsequent fire might have been prevented.
Use the Superchute Drencher as part of your overall fire prevention plan.
Consider using Fire Retardant chute sections. Contact Superchute for details.
Drencher Installation & Use:
1. Clamp a Drencher to the top edge of the container.2. Connect a garden hose.3. Turn water on.4. Keep the contents of the trash container wet at all times.
Considerations:
The Drencher will help control airborne dust. Do not apply water if the container contains hazardous debris - the
runoff could be toxic. Water application is less feasible if the temperature drops below the
freezing point.
