Bronx Masquerade Journal Entry and Paired Poem Assignment

Task: Add yourself to the book. Your block will be creating a unique version of Bronx Masquerade centered around your individual lives. Compose a journal entry, similar to those in the book, along with a poem that addresses the content of your entry—in short, your poem must be a reflection of your journal. Your entry and poem must use poetic devices throughout and demonstrate a deep explanation of who you are and what struggles you may have experienced (simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, etc.).

*Note: This assignment is a MAJOR GRADE. All entries and poems will be shared in class; however, entries will be numbered, not identified by name. When they are presented in class, you will have the option to read yours aloud for extra credit (10 points). Should you decide not to read yours, I will read it for you.
