THE SILLIESTQUESTION IN THE WORLD

ITIHEwar has done much to try the patience of all of us, but if ari~bon is ever awarded for.the greatest contribution to wartime asininity it should go to those people who go around

asking and looking the question: "Don't you know there's a war on?"

Everyone knows there's a war on and knows that war means sacrificeof big things and little things. In our restaurant we've had to sacrificesome of the fine points of service which marked our establishment inthe past. We've had to comply with ration restrictions and we fre-quently are short of help.

You, our patrons, have been most considerate of our inability toalways maintain our pre-war standards. Thanks much for your goodcooperation.

As soon as possible, we'll resume normal service. Meantime we'll doour best and we are happier knowing our patrons lealize ho~ we'rehandicapped.
