Media I: Wrong/Right Video Proficiency Follow these Rules

1. Include all partners in the video.

2. Divide the work equally.

3. Shoot the clips in ORDER.

4. NEVER record over anything.

5. Shoot all video on this floor.

6. Don’t bother other classes.

7. ALWAYS use a tripod unless specifically directed not to use it.

8. Show WRONG way then RIGHT way.

9. Create signs that say RIGHT and WRONG then show them in the clip.

10. Be sure to add 2 seconds on each end of the clip.

Consider the “Rule of Thirds” Mentally divide the picture frame into thirds both horizontally and vertically. Make sure that the picture elements

are placed in the centers of interest. Draw the diagram with “centers of interests” below.

WRONG WAY RIGHT WAY 1. Shoot backlit WS of partners

2. Shoot CU of partner in perfect center

3. Shoot CU of partner with too much headroom

4. Follow partners walking (WS) and give too

little lead room

5. Improperly compose CU of partner

6. Improperly compose a MS of partner

7. Improperly compose a WS of partner

8. Have partners say “I love Media” at the exact

moment you turn on the camera

1. Shoot a correctly lit WS of partners

2. Shoot CU of partner using rule of thirds

3. Shoot CU of partner with enough headroom

4. Follow partners walking (WS) and give proper

lead room

5. Properly compose CU of partner

6. Properly compose MS of partner

7. Properly compose WS of partner

8. Pad the shot by waiting 2 seconds after you hit

record before partners say “I love Media”

When you complete recording, import all of your video onto Group Leader’s Desktop GROUP Folder
