    TACOMA TO HOST 2017 AAA ALL-STAR GAME: The Tacoma Rainiers and Cheney Stadium have been selected to host the 2017 TripAll-Star Game presented by CHI Franciscan Health and surrounding festivities, the club announced in coordination with Triple-A Baseball the Pacific Coast League. The greatest talents from the PCL and International League will converge at Cheney Stadium on Wednesday, 12, 2017 for the showcase to be televised nationally on MLB Network. This will mark the 30th anniversary of the Triple-A All-Star game. 2will mark the first time the Tacoma franchise, members of the Pacific Coast League since 1960, have hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game. DH Kyle Petty, who won the HoRun Derby on Monday night, went 0-for-3 with a walk as the California League starting DH, batting 5th.     HR DERBY: Blaze 1B Kyle Pettycrushed 22 home runs on Monday night to win the California/Carolina League Home Run Derby. TheDerby took place aboard the USS Midway in San Diego hosted by the Lake Elsinore Storm ahead of the two circuits All-Star clash at TDiamond on today. Petty outslugged fellow California Leaguers Dawel Lugo of the Visalia Rawhide, Chris Shaw of the San Jose Giants Travis Demeritte of the High Desert Mavericks, and also beat Carolina Leaguers Aderlin Rodriguez of the Frederick Keys, Drew Ward ofPotomac Nationals, and Yu-Cheng Chang and Bobby Bradley of the Lynchburg Hillcats. A signal man waved a pair of flags in the air when balls cleared markers in the water.

    ALL-STAR MANIA: The California League announced that 3 members of the Bakersfield Blaze were named to the Western Division rostethe 2016 California League All-Star team. Right-handed pitchers Tyler Herband Kyle Schepel(DNP Promotion to AA Jackson) and

    Kyle Pettyrepresented the Blaze after they were voted on by managers and broadcasters from the California Leagues 10 teams. The Anniversary celebration of the California League All Star game took June 22 in Lake Elsinore with the Carolina League All-Stars defeatingCalifornia League All-Stars 6-4.
