General warnings.� Before using this stabilizing jacket or any

other underwater diving equipment, youmust attend a course held by a qualified in-structor and successfully obtain an appro-priate diving certification. The use of divingequipment by untrained and uncertifiedpersons is dangerous and may cause seri-ous or fatal injuries to the diver and hiscompanions.

� During the assembly and finishing of thisstabilizing jacket, all possible provisionswere taken to supply a highly reliable andlong-lasting product.

� Such provisions may become ineffective ifthe user does not use the stabilizing jacketcorrectly and fails to maintain it adequate-ly.

� Seacsub denies any responsibility for anyproblem resulting from a lack of observa-tion of the recommendations made in thismanual.

� Seacsub stabilizing jackets are a result ofresearch conducted in close collaborationwith numerous professional diving opera-tors. Their innovative characteristics guar-antee a reliability that remains unchangedeven after an extensive series of dives. Atthe same time, the mechanical and func-tional properties of Seacsub stabilizingjackets allow an extremely simple mainte-nance regime.

� If you are not experienced in the use of thisapparatus, we advise you to study its func-tions during trial dives in shallow depthsand in favourable conditions; you should al-so contact a qualified instructor for acourse to update your skills in the use ofdiving equipment.

� These stabilizing jackets have been certi-fied according to European laws EN 250and EN 1809, which call for an extensiveseries of functional tests up to a maximumdepth of 50 metres and temperatures rang-ing between -20°C and + 70 ° C

These stabilizing jackets are designed for usewith normal atmospheric air in compliance withthe provisions made in law EN 12021.

The use of this or any other Seacsub product withoxygen-enriched gas or mixtures (commonlyknown as NITROX) requires specific preparationand compliance with laws of the country wherethe equipment is used. If this is not done accord-ing to recommendations, it may cause serious orfatal injury due to fires or explosions, or serious-ly cause damage to the equipment.

References to European law EN1809Scope - Definitions - LimitationsScope: The EN 1809 standard allows the veri-fication of minimal safety and performancestandards for inflatable stabilizing jackets.Definition (EN 1809):A device that allows the diver to control hisbuoyancy while diving.Limitations:It is not within the scope of the EN 1809 stan-dard to establish requirements for floatationdevices or life vests. The stabilizing jacket isnot intended to guarantee an upright position ofthe head in cases of unconsciousness or otherincapacities while on the surface or underwa-ter.

The following instructions must be integratedwith those of the other components of your SCU-BA (cylinder assembly). Before using your cylin-der assembly, carefully read all of the instruc-tions for use as found in the relative manuals.

CE CertificationThe Seacsub stabilizing jackets described inthis manual have been subjected to type test-ing, verified and certified by the notified testingauthority 0474 RINA with their headquarters inGenoa, Italy. In conformity with law EN 250 di-rective 89/686/CEE of December 21st 1989 asSCUBA gear (III° category) and in conformitywith EN 1809 directive 89/896/CEE as a stabi-lizing jacket (II°category).The testing methods were implemented in ac-cordance to law EN 250 in applying the samedirective that established its entry onto themarket and the essential safety requirementsof the Individual Protection Device (IPD).

The “CE” (European community) seal signifiesthe conformity of this product to the essentialhealth and safety requirements (Annex II DE89/686/CEE). The number 0474 beside the“CE” identifies the notified RINA testing author-ity, which carried out the testing of the produc-tion according to the provisions of Article 11ADE 89/686/CEE.

This stabilizing jacket is not a life vest and doesnot guarantee support on the surface with yourface out of the water!Before using this stabilizing jacket, you must fol-low a course held by qualified instructors and ob-tain the relative qualification.The use of diving apparatus by unqualified per-sons is dangerous and may cause serious or fa-tal incidents to the diver and his companions.This stabilizing jacket can be assembled on asingle cylinder up to 18 litres (Ø 220 mm) or ontwin cylinders of 10 + 10 litres.Read the attached Instruction Manual carefully.Before each use, ensure that this stabilizing jack-et is functioning properly. Carefully screw thestabilizing jacket hose to a low-pressure outlet ofthe first stage of the regulator, ensuring that thethread is of the same type! An eventual intake ofhigh pressure in the hose may cause damage,death or serious injury! Following each dive, in-cluding those in swimming pools or fresh water,this stabilizing jacket must be rinsed with freshwater inside and out. Keep this stabilizing jacketpartially inflated in a cool, ventilated location.Lack of maintenance may cause damage to thisstabilizing jacket or cause it to not function cor-

New Pro series Stabilizing JacketsInner and outer bladdersDuring the design and development of this newline, we paid particular attention to every detail,whether aesthetic, technical or functional.Among the many innovations is the grey fabricthat gives the structure a stylish flair typical ofproducts that are “Made in Italy”.The outer section of the “New Pro Series” sta-bilizing jackets is made in PU-coated Nylon840, a material extremely resistant to abrasion,tearing, and saline corrosion, guaranteeing along life, it is high frequency welded to create astrong air chamber.The outer bladder contains connections to thevarious overpressure valves and the power in-flator, all made from polyurethane, makingthem easily recognizable and quick and easy tomaintain.The internal section is made from 420 nylon orCordura 500 fabric, which guarantees optimalresistance while offering elasticity and ensur-ing a comfortable fit.The true innovative features lie in a revolution-ary new system connecting the bladder andback pack, an acetylene resin flange locatedaround the back pack allows the bladder to beattached precisely and firmly, creating a com-pact assembly, also extremely functional.Thanks to this system, the stabilizing jacket willfit the diver better, eliminating those gaps thatare generally created between the divers backand the jacket itself.

Seacsub Stabilizing JacketsInner and outer bladdersThe Seacsub stabilizing jacket bladders aremade from high-tenacity nylon or, for somemodels, in a Cordura fabric internally coated inpolyurethane. High frequency welding createsa sturdy air chamber.The materials used are extremely resistant toabrasion and tearing, guaranteeing functionali-ty over time. The pockets, quick-release buck-

les, common band, and D-rings are attachedwith high strength stitching to the outside ofthe inflatable bladder. The use of adjustablebuckles connected to sturdy straps optimiseswearability and comfort between the diver andthe stabilizing jacket/cylinder unit.

New Pro Series Stabilizing JacketsShoulder straps, harnesses, and acces-sories.The “Frame to back system” (the direct con-nection of the shoulder straps to the back pack)has also been adopted for the New Pro Seriesof stabilizing jackets, allowing diving with su-perior freedom of movement, without restric-tions or any binding. The functioning of thebladder during various phases of diving doesnot influence the adjustment of the shoulderstraps, thereby avoiding annoying binding oruncontrolled movements of the cylinder unit it-self.The gradual adjustment of the shoulder strapsallow a customized fit according to the type ofequipment used and the type of dive to be un-dertaken.The shoulder straps are padded and have a se-mi-rigid insert, guaranteeing an easy and com-fortable fit by preventing the straps from be-coming twisted.The introduction of the “Airnet” fabric makesthe inner part of the stabilizing jacket practicaland sturdy, and above all comfortable, makingit suitable to use the stabilizing jacket duringdives in mild temperature waters or whilsttraining in swimming pools without the diverhaving to wear a protective suit for comfort.The various sizes of D-rings are made of differ-ent materials, including stainless steel, hard-anodized lightweight alloy, or HR nylon, allow-ing the attachment of many differing types ofaccessories and technical components to thestabilizing jacket. Sternal closure is assisted bya three-position adjustable system (two for thePro Lady version) with 25 mm HR Nylon clips.All loops are made from “Hi Tenacity” fabric

This system is ad-justable and supported by an additional 50mmclip located centrally while two HR Nylon D-rings connected to the strap allow the clip to beadjusted even when wearing gloves.An octopus holder (Drawing. 19) located on theright shoulder strap compliments the strap at-tachment points, where every detail has beenconsidered to offer the essentials required bythe most demanding of divers.

Seacsub Stabilizing JacketsShoulder straps and harnesses.The wearability of our stabilizing jackets isguaranteed by an adjustable system of paddedshoulder straps that make our line among themost popular from a point of view of simplicity,technology, and ease of dressing.Adjustment of the strap length to ensure thediver’s comfort makes this stabilizing jacketversatile, practical, and very comfortable.From the simplest of systems to the most hightech, the diver has a wide range of stabilizingjackets to choose from within the Seacsubrange, according to his own demands and thevarious accessories required to meet these.From basic to the more professional models,which offer greater volume, it will be easy toidentify the specific functions offered by eachSeacsub product in order to offer equipmentperfectly suited to an individual diver’s needs.Stainless steel D-rings, regulators holder, ster-num closure buckles, and other important ac-cessories complete our stabilizing jackets,making every function readily available to themost adventurous diver.

New Pro Series Stabilizing JacketsBack PackAttention to detail and a lasting passion to contin-ue our research have allowed us to develop an in-novative back pack from the point of view of com-fort, practicality, and technical characteristics.

This new component was conceived followingthe development of the bladder assembled tothe centre of the back pack support structure,allowing the stabilizing jacket to adapt to thediver’s body as much as possible. Once the div-er steps in to a Seacsub Stabilizing Jacket, theabsence of spaces between the shoulder-backand the bladder itself will be immediately no-ticed.The anatomically profiled inclination of theback pack further contributes to the perfect fitof scuba equipment on the diver.The connection between the stabilizing jacketand tank is guaranteed by the concave shapein the rear of the back pack, while the particu-larly secure mounting of the cylinder maintainsa constant and precise hold on any type used.The cylinder attachment band on the back packcompletes the fixing system, making it easyand above all safe to use.The accurate technical design allows fewspaces, making it even simpler and light-weight. Manufactured using shockproof HR ny-lon with the bladder connection frame in acety-lene resin, the new back pack instantlyappears to be an essential component capableof simplifying and optimising the use of the sta-bilizing jacket for any type of dive.Friction is avoided as the Strap adjustment isfacilitated by specially designed angled slotswhich ensure perfect positioning of all cylin-ders.A special padding made from lightweight, self-draining foam offering enhanced levels ofstrength and comfort protect the inner sec-tions. The introduction of the AHS (AdjustableHarness System) allows simple adjustment tocustomize the length of the shoulder straps ac-cording to the scuba equipment to be used. Theinstructions for correct use of the stabilizingjacket include instructions for performing thisoperation.It is connected to the cylinder by means of asingle modular band with a specially designedbuckle that wraps itself around the cylinderwith ease. guarantee the stabilizing jacket will accommo-date any single cylinder with a maximum diam-eter of 220 mm. (18 litre steel cylinder). Illus-trations on how to correctly assemble thecylinder band can be found on page 117 of thismanual. In order to fix 10 + 10 liter twin cylin-ders, it is necessary to use the Seacsub twincylinder band coded S103006, which has beenspecifically designed exclusively for this pur-pose. In order to safely connect twin cylindersto the stabilizing jacket, we advise using twoparallel twin cylinder bands (Drawing.16). Theback plate is also designed to fix the twin cylin-ders by perfectly located fixed pins.A handle for transporting the stabilizing jacketoffers the diver safe transport of the jacket andattached valves, whilst also creating yet anoth-er safeguard against undesired movement ofthe cylinder in case the tank connection bandhas been incorrectly assembled or adjusted.(Drawing. 15).

Seacsub Stabilizing JacketsBack PackA perfect connection between the stabilizingjacket and cylinder is assured by our consoli-dated back pack in shockproof HR nylon withan inner preformed plate and outer counterplate both designed with great comfort atheart. The precision aligned angled slots spe-cially designed to avoid any friction facilitatestrap adjustment, special padding in tough butlightweight, self-draining foam offer strengthand comfort provide huge levels of protectionto the inner components. The back pack is con-nected to the cylinder by means of a singledurable strap with an integrated specially de-signed buckle that wraps superbly around thecontour of the cylinder. This specially designedstrap guarantees that the stabilizing jacket willaccommodate any single cylinder with a maxi-mum diameter of 220 mm. (18 liter steel airtank). Illustrations on how to correctly assem-ble the cylinder band can be found on page 117of this manual. In order to fix 10 + 10 liter twin

cylinders, use the Seacsub twin cylinder bandcode S103006 specifically designed for thispurpose, the end result of exhaustive research.In order to safely connect twin cylinders to thestabilizing jacket, we advise using two parallelbands (Drawing.16). The back pack is also de-signed to fix twin cylinders utilising perfectlylocated fixed pins.A handle for transporting the stabilizing jacketoffers the diver the possibility to secure thestabilizing jacket around the cylinder valves,creating yet another safety system against theslipping of the tank in case of incorrect fasten-ing of the cylinder attachment band (Draw-ing.15).

Pro 2000 Piston Power Inflator “ inflation and defla-tion system”The integrated inflation/deflation system in-stalled in the Pro 2000 is designed to fit easilyinto the palm of your hand and can therefore beactivated with very simple movements. Thetwo control buttons are differentiated by posi-tion, form, and touch. The convex, lined buttonat the end of the power inflator allows inflationorally if necessary with an ergonomically de-signed mouthpiece or to release the air con-tained in the stabilizing jacket (Drawing. 33-24). The concave button allows gradualinflation of air in to the stabilizing jacket; a rap-id and decisive pressure of the button willcause excessive inflation (Drawing. 35).The piston system is extremely sturdy, effi-cient, and reliable, while its technical structureallows constant functionality even in the pres-ence of debris or dirt residue that may have ac-cidentally come into contact with the power in-flator.Both the inflation and exhaust flows are in-creased in order to maximise optimum buoyan-cy control.The internal components are made in nickel-plated brass and then chromium plated for in-creased safety and long-term reliability.

The bladder connection is manufactured fromcorrugated EPDM, highly resistant to salinecorrosion. The quality of the materials used fol-lows our continual research in developing cut-ting edge technology and is yet another exam-ple of Seacsub leading the field.Directly connected to the upper left flange, thepower inflator has a quick overpressure valvethat can be activated by simply pulling thepower inflator. In case of a quick descent or theneed to exhaust air quickly, a simple pull willactivate the valve by forcing air from the blad-der with a precise and instantaneous se-quence.

Power Inflator with flow control valve “Inflation and deflation system”The integrated air control assembly with flowcontrol valve system is fitted to all Seacsubstabilizing jackets including the new Pro Techand Pro Lady lines of the New Pro Series.It’s practical ergonomic form facilitates ease ofuse, the two inflate and exhaust buttons havedifferent shapes and colours to allow unmis-takable identification of that required simply bytouch, this feature could be considered essen-tial in low visibility waters.All components are made from materials thatare highly resistant to corrosion and externalchemical agents, while its simple use makes itextremely easy to open for routine and extraor-dinary maintenance. Naturally, we always ad-vise that you consult your local Seacsub spe-cialist technician for any adjustments that theequipment may eventually be required.

Overpressure valvesThe Seacsub ranges of stabilizing jackets arealso supplied with two tried and tested tradi-tional style overpressure valves that guaranteethe quick release of air with a simple but stur-dy mechanism. The valves can be opened ei-ther due to excessive air pressure in the blad-der (bladder completely inflated due to

continual inflation or volumetric expansion ofthe air) or by the cable attached to the valve it-self (an operation often carried out to acceler-ate descent or quickly adjust buoyancy duringascent). These valves are located on the upperand lower right hand part of the bladder (Draw-ing. 36).As previously explained, pulling the toggle lo-cated on the free end of the cable activates theoverpressure valve.In certain models, the upper right hand valvecan also be activated by pulling the cable reten-tion sleeve (Drawing. 38). This new technicalbreakthrough allows the identification of the ex-haust cable along its entire length without hav-ing to find the exhaust control toggle. In certainmodels, the toggle of the lower overpressurevalve on the front of the stabilizing jacket(Drawing. 31) will help to activate the exhaustvalve itself without having to find the deflationtoggle located on the rear of the jacket.

Volume distributionDistribution of air volume within the PRO 2000,P2K and P2K Lady versions is a “Semiback”type (2/3 to the rear 1/3 at the front) providingperfect balance in any phase, from the surfaceto the end of the dive itself. Two thirds of thebuoyant air volume being located in the rearsection permits absolute freedom of movementwhilst also ensuring you remain streamlined,minimising drag for maximum headway in thewater. The versions that use the “Semiback”system were designed to offer optimal buoyan-cy force essential for professionals conductingregular deep dives.Other versions were designed with proven tra-ditional volume distribution technology, whichmaintain an essential balance together withoptimal headway while diving without having tosacrifice buoyancy. The traditional volume dis-tribution is recommended for the diver whoneeds a basic stabilizing jacket with a lesscumbersome volume allowing total freedom ofmovement.

In any case, it will be easy to find varying typesof buoyancy distribution amongst our range ofstabilizing jackets and a special label appliedeasily identifies the “Semiback” system.

Series pockets, optional pockets,and removable weight pocketsSeacsub stabilizing jackets are supplied withpockets that are simple and practical to use:roomy front bellows style pockets allow stor-age of a large range of accessories that a div-er may choose to carry. In some versions thereare also supplementary “back-up” pockets thatincrease the function of the stabilizing jacket it-self. Always take care to close the zips or thestrap closure to avoid losing the objects con-tained inside.In most models, we have designed a space inboth the front right and left sides for attach-ment if desired of quick release weight pocketswith a capacity of up to 5 kg each (Q.R.W.Ssystem). In the PRO 2000 version there are al-so two handy additional rear weight pocketswhich can each hold a maximum of 2.5 kg.(Drawing. 37).

P2K and P2K Lady rear weightpockets The P2K and the P2K Lady versions were de-signed with optional rear weight pockets. Wehave left the individual diver to choose whetherto install supplementary pockets on the stabi-lizing jacket to help with correct weight distri-bution for their intended dives.A specific manual is supplied with the pocketsto illustrate the various phases of assembly forthe correct use of this system.

QRWSIntegrated weight systemQ.R.W.S (Quick Release Weight System) is thenew advanced integrated weight system im-plemented by Seacsub for the following New

Pro Series models:PRO 2000 - PRO TECH - PRO LADY and for P2Kand P2K LADY.Q.R.W.S evolved following intense technicallydetailed research and collaboration with manySeacsub Diving Centres, this offers divers anadvantage unique to Seacsub stabilizing jack-ets.Above all, it must be emphasized that, once in-serted, this system does not effect the externalconfiguration of the stabilizing jacket but re-mains perfectly integrated and compact insidethe pocket.This allows each stabilizing jacket to be usedwith or without the Q.R.W.S system without anychange in appearance.The weight pockets, with a maximum load of 5kg. each are easy to insert. Once positioned onthe “male” tracks integrated inside the jacket,a simple push will suffice to insert it fully andattach it securely, this is confirmed by a recog-nizable “click” when fully fixed. The Q.W.R.Ssystem has the unique feature of remainingstable even when fully loaded and will not hin-der performance during any dive.The removal of the weight pockets is just aspractical and safe. It is sufficient to pull thehandle towards the outside to allow quick re-lease from the integral attachment points. Instructions for the correct useof the stabilizing jackets

Read the following instructions carefully. Yoursafety and the continued efficiency of your equip-ment depend on your having read these instruc-tions.

The stabilizing jacket is not a life vest and doesnot guarantee supporting a person face up whileon the surface of the water!

The stabilizing jacket must always be trans-ported with care in a bag or back pack special-ly designed to contain diving equipment andavoiding contact with heavy or sharp objects.

New Pro Stabilizing JacketsInstructions for the correct adjustment ofthe shoulder straps (with the AHS system),belts, and common band.The first time you use your stabilizing jacketand whenever necessary, adjust the shoulderstraps, the common band, and the cylinder at-tachment bands to ensure they are all secureand correctly positioned for use.This series of stabilizing jackets offers the pos-sibility to adjust the length of the shoulderstraps according to the body shape of the div-er and equipment used, resulting in a stream-lined and practical fit when correctly assem-bled.The AHS (Adjustable Harness System) allowsthe diver to adjust this length gradually,through the reference window (Drawing. 1) it issimple to identify the exact position of theshoulder straps (referred to the length) and, ifnecessary, proceed with any suitable adjust-ment.To carry out this simple operation it is first nec-

essary to remove the padded protection on theback pack. By opening the strap closure locat-ed on the rear of the back plate (Drawing.2) itwill be easy to remove the padding, allowingsimple access for adjustment (Drawing. 3).In order to remove the band in the loop locatedon the padding, work on the inner part of thepadding itself. This operation will enable morespace to be available for the adjustment of theshoulder strap length. (Drawing. 4).To have access to the 3 bar sliding buckle toadjust the straps, you must first open the sec-tions at both the right and left ends of the com-mon band by pulling apart the strap attach-ments. (Drawing. 5). On some models,adjustment is made using HR Nylon loops tech-nically known as a 3 bar sliding buckle. (Draw-ing. 6). In this case, because the length adjust-ing 3 bar buckles are easily visible, it will not benecessary to remove the two terminal parts ofthe right and left common band designed foradjustment of the length of the common banditself. We would like to specify that in order toadjust the shoulder strap length on the Pro2000, it will be necessary to remove the bandthat attaches the two rear weight pockets tothe main section. (Drawing. 7).It is possible to loosen the band by adjustingthe webbing using the 3 bar buckle located onthe lower part of the backpack. (Drawing. 8),.This operation will facilitate the passage of theband through the adjustment system.Using both hands, run the upper band section(Drawing. 9), adjusting the length until the de-sired length is attained.The range of measuring the length of the strapis identified with a cloth label that is markedfrom -3 to +3.In the +3 position, the total of the shoulderstraps will reach the maximum length, while inthe -3 position; the minimum length will be ob-tained. The factory setting will be between 0and -1, guaranteeing a standard adjustment.Once the required length has been ascertained,check that the adjustment strap is then se-cured in order to prevent it sliding into an un-

desired position. The best fit will result with po-sitioning the sternum buckle corresponding tothe end of the sternum (Drawing. 10). Continuewith re-assembly of the components removedby following the previous instructions in re-verse.Further adjustment can be made using theloops on the lower part of the back pack.(Drawing. 11). The length of the common bandcan also be adjusted with the loops located onthe back pack. (Drawing. 5 or Drawing. 6, de-pending on the model).The cylinder strap with special closure on therear of the back pack may require adjustmentready for finally attaching cylinders. Correctlythreading the strap through the buckle willavoid any possible loosening during use. Thediagram on page 117 illustrates the varioussteps necessary to obtain a proper closure.

Seacsub Stabilizing JacketsInstructions for the correct adjustment ofbelts, common band and shoulder straps.All Seacsub stabilizing jackets offer the possi-bility to carry out adjustments in order to en-sure the jacket is a perfect fit for the diver.This operation, as previously indicated, mustbe carried out the first time you use your stabi-lizing jacket and whenever necessary.By adjusting the two HR Nylon 3 bar slidingbuckles on the back pack, it is possible to ad-just the length of the shoulder straps until youobtain a correct fit (Drawing 12). The best re-sult is to position the sternal buckle at a heightadjacent to the final part of the sternum (Draw-ing 10). .The same operation may be carried out by ad-justing the lower straps on the back pack.(Drawing 13) The common band with strapmay also be adjusted by altering the fabric partconnected to the back pack by positioning thestrap in the desired position. (Drawing 14).Ceratin base models cannot be adjusted aspreviously described, but adjustment by tight-ening or loosening the connecting and shoulder

straps will ensure a comfortable and practicalfit. (Drawing.21-22-26).The cylinder strap with buckle positioned onthe rear of the back pack must be adjusted andready for finally securing the cylinder. By en-suring that the strap is threaded correctlythrough the buckles, you will avoid the risk ofthese becoming loose during use. The diagramon page 117 illustrates the various stages toobtain correct cylinder security.

Always check that all the straps and shoulderstraps are properly aligned and correctly located,not forming curves or strange folds.

Instructions for correct assemblyin the pre-dive phaseWe advise following the instructions below inorder to ensure safety and comfort during thevarious phases of diving.The first step to be taken is to attach the stabi-lizing jacket to the cylinder, positioning thecylinder with the outlet valves facing you, insertthe stabilizing jacket, maintaining the rear partof the back pack in front of the valve.Tighten the band on the cylinder and close thespecial buckles; secure any excess strap lengthusing the special strips provided.

By tightening the band on the cylinder while dryyou may notice loosening of tension when divingwith consequential slipping of the cylinder.We therefore recommend wetting the bands be-fore carrying out this operation!

The transport handle inserted on the back packmust be placed around the valves (Drawing 15)as an extra safety measure to prevent thecylinder from slipping if the connections of thecylinder bands are not correctly secured.

The transport handle supplied on Seacsub stabi-lizing jackets is designed solely for transportingthe stabilizing jacket on the surface without acylinder attached or as an extra anti-slip safetymeasure once the stabilizing jacket has been as-sembled onto the cylinder. The transport handlemust never, under any circumstances be used asa means of lifting the assembled SCUBA system.

At this point, put on the stabilizing jacket andassume an erect position, lowering the nape ofyour neck backwards: if your body position iscorrect, you should have no problem carryingout this operation. At the same time, check thatthe base of the cylinder does not move down-wards excessively, disturbing your movementsWe advise you to mark a fixed reference pointon the cylinder- for example, a strip of adhesivetape or painted line - so that you can alwaysre-assemble your stabilizing jacket in the cor-rect position.This procedure may seem excessive, but it willguarantee comfort and correct use of the sta-bilizing jacket for all future dives.Remember that the attachment system is de-signed to assemble a single cylinder to the sta-bilizing jacket with no additional accessoriesrequired.

These special bands guarantee that the stabiliz-ing jacket will accommodate any single cylinderwith a minimum diameter of 140 mm and a max-imum of 220 mm.

For attaching 10 + 10 liter twin cylinders, there isa twin cylinder band available, Seacsub codeS103006. This has been specially designed in or-der to attach twin cylinders to the jacket safelyand securely, we advise parallel application oftwo bands as mentioned above. (Drawing 16).

Assemble the stabilizing jacket direct feedhose to a low-pressure outlet on your regula-tors first stage, taking care not to tangle anyother hoses with those of the second stages.We advise positioning the service hoses (pres-sure gauge, stabilizing jacket direct feed anddry suit) to the left and the breathing hoses(main and octopus second stages) to the righthand side.

Carefully secure the stabilizing jacket direct feedhose to a low pressure outlet ensuring that thethreads are the same type and correctly alignedto those of the first stage of the regulator! Dam-age and serious problems will occur if the stabi-lizing jacket direct feed hose is attached to anyHigh Pressure Ports and this could lead to deathor serious injury!

Verify that the pressure gauge hose and regu-lator hoses are positioned correctly and se-cured in the specially located snap hook(Drawing 17-18-19). Connect the stabilizingjacket direct feed hose to the power inflatorcarefully using the snap lock connector takingcare to pass the hose through the special con-tainment rings provided.To connect the snap lock connector of the

direct feed hose to the power inflator, hold themetal collar at the end of the hose betweenyour thumb and index finger and pull it back to-wards the first stage (Drawing.20); push thesnap lock connector onto the male connectionof the power inflator and release the collar.If necessary connection of the direct feed hosemay also take place with the cylinder valveopen, however for added safety we recom-mend that your air is turned of whenever at-taching any hoses if at all possible.Check that the power inflator is functioningcorrectly by pushing once on the inlet buttonafter the cylinder air valve has been opened, airshould pass into the stabilizing jacket bladderfreely and evenly.

To disconnect the direct feed hose, turn off thecylinder air valve and release hose pressure bypurging your regulator 2nd stage, pull the col-lar back away from the Power Inflator and thehose will be released. Practice this operation inorder to intervene should any continuous airflow be experienced during diving due toblockage or malfunction, this operation will im-mediately stop the air flow and should be per-formed only when required.

We recommend testing the use of the dischargebutton with the power inflator pressurised on thesurface: Once underwater, overly rapid inflationmay cause uncontrolled descent, causing seriousrisk and possible fatal injury to the diver!

If diving in cold water, we recommend limitingthis operation to a minimum in order not to runthe risk of freezing mechanical parts.

By releasing the inflation button, the passage ofair into the stabilizing jacket must stop immedi-

ately. If this does not occur, contact an authorizedSeacsub Service Centre immediately for neces-sary remedial action.

Inflate the stabilizing jacket fully and wait forabout 15 minutes. If the stabilizing jacket startsto deflate, do not use this equipment under anycircumstances and contact an authorizedSeacsub Service Centre immediately.

Prior to use do not place the stabilizing jacketin the sun and avoid contact with any sharp,pointed, or rough surfaces such as rocks orother materials that could easily cause damageto the bladder or other components. Avoid leav-ing the stabilizing jacket on sandy surfaces asthis may lead to sand contaminating mechani-cal parts causing damage and malfunction.

Adjust the shoulder straps and the harness toensure a correct fit, loosen the shoulder strapsto the maximum opening and proceed withputting on your weight belt if the QWRS is notbeing used where available. Slip your armsthrough the shoulder straps, paying attention torouting the low-pressure and corrugated hosesabove the shoulder, lock the straps evenly(Drawing 21), and then close the sternal buck-le.The right and left shoulder straps should be ad-justed to ensure a perfect fit of the stabilizingjacket to the user. The common band must beclosed by overlapping the strap parts securely.Then close the central 50 mm HR Nylon clip,adjust the tension with the special bands(Drawing 22).At the conclusion of this operation verify thereare no problems in movement or breathing.To avoid the risk of injury when entering thewater from a boat, do not excessively inflatethe bladder. To increase surface buoyancy afterentering the water, inflate the bladder by usingthe inflation button located in the centre of thepower inflator.

Before, during, and after the diveOnce on the surface, begin the dive by deflat-ing the bladder using one of three methodsprovided:1) Hold the power inflator, lift your left arm and

push the deflation button on the upper part ofthe power inflator. This will activate the grad-ual exhaust valve and facilitate release of airfrom the stabilizing jacket bladder. Draw-ing.23).

2) Hold the toggle of the upper exhaust valve onthe right hand side pulling until it open untilthe desired quantity of air is released (Draw-ing. 24), alternatively pull on the black cablesleeve (Drawing. 38), this will release air rap-idly from the bladder.

3) When in an upside-down position, you canmanually activate opening of the rear over-pressure valve by pulling the lower exhaustvalve toggle, air will be released automatical-ly. On some models this operation may beperformed by pulling the toggle located onthe front right hand part of the stabilizingjacket. (Drawing. 31).

Once you leave the surface, descent speed willincrease rapidly and must be compensatedwith controlled regular rapid pushes of the in-flation button. The gradual inflation of air in tothe stabilizing jacket through the power inflatorwill allow the diver to comfortably control theirdescent and maintain buoyancy once the de-sired depth has been reached.Having reached the desired depth, if necessary,continue to make short pushes on the inflationbutton until you have ascertained neutral buoy-ancy. During your stay at the desired depth, youmust carry out only slight corrections to com-pensate for slight variations to your depth andthe progressive lightening of your cylinders dueto air consumption.

We recommend using the stabilizing jacket only

as an aid for maintaining underwater buoyancy. Itis not designed to be a life support system! It is not designed or intended as a means of lift-ing heavy objects from the sea, this can be ex-tremely dangerous, cause uncontrolled ascentand serious or fatal injuries to the diver and hiscompanions!

During your ascent, your buoyancy can bemaintained by slightly exhausting air from thestabilizing jacket bladder using any of the threemethods described above allowing a gradualcontrolled release of excess air. Should it be-come necessary a prolonged release of airshould allow sufficient rapid exhaust to regaincontrol over the speed of ascent.In case of an unexpected need for rapid ex-haust of air, we advise utilising the relevantoverpressure valve by pulling the correspon-ding toggle.Be advised that the overpressure valve usedcarrying out this operation must be that locat-ed in the position that best allows rapid ex-haust of air.

It is essential to regulate hydrostatic balancewhen returning to the surface in order to avoid amuch too rapid ascent. Consult your instructor oryour diving manual for further information con-cerning this necessity. Always follow regulationsand those dictated by your underwater computeror decompression tables during each phase ofdiving.

If diving from a boat, having reached the sur-face, you can completely inflate your stabilizingjacket and comfortably wait to be collected bythe boat or swim in the direction of the boat ifrequired.In the case of diving from a beach or reef, thestabilizing jacket, fully inflated, will assistswimming until you reach land.Remember that there is no danger of over-in-flating the bladder on the surface due to the

overpressure valves releasing any excess airpressure produced by any increase of pressureinside the bladder.

If you need to attract attention whilst at thesurface, you can use the DIN standard dualtone high intensity whistle supplied attached tothe corrugated hose. (Drawing 25)

If using the optional integrated weight pockets(QRWS), we advise removing them immediate-ly upon returning to the boat and passing themover the side of the boat to a colleague. Takingthe corresponding toggles in each hand andpulling strongly outwards it will be easy to re-lease both pockets.

In order to remove the stabilizing jacket, youmust open the common band and unfasten thesternum buckle on your chest using two fin-gers, while a simple upward movement appliedto the 50 mm HR Nylon clips fitted to bothshoulder straps will enlarge them and facilitateremoval. (Drawing.26).In order to remove your stabilizing jacket fromthe cylinder, after turning off the air supply youmust carefully remove the hose connected tothe power inflator as previously described andunfasten the cylinder band.

Care and maintenance of yourstabilizing jacketIn order to maintain your stabilizing jacket in aperfect and efficient condition, you must ad-here to the following precautionary measures.

1. Following each and every dive, including thosein swimming pools or fresh water reservoirs,lakes or rivers, the stabilizing jacket must berinsed with fresh running water, the use of de-mineralised water is recommended. Also en-sure that any residual salt water is removedthrough the overpressure valve on the upperright hand side of the stabilizing jacket.

2. We advise that the internal bladder is thor-oughly rinsed periodically with fresh water.Toperform this operation you must disassemblethe overpressure valve (Drawing 27), andcarefully fill with fresh running water (Draw-ing 28). Re-assemble the valve, then turn thestabilizing jacket upside-down and shakethoroughly to circulate the water inside. Tohelp remove the water, we advise inflatingthe stabilizing jacket in order to automatical-ly open the rear overpressure valve and dis-charge any remaining water. (Drawing 29).As a final procedure, let your stabilizing jack-et dry out well for a prolonged period withoutexposing it to the direct sunlight.

3. Never store your stabilizing jacket with anyother equipment that may cause damage tothe bag, a puncture to the bladder could behighly dangerous and potentially cause deathor serious injury.

4. Avoid contact with oils, solvents, gasoline orother harmful substances.

5. Before each dive, check that the power infla-tor and overpressure valves are operatingcorrectly. (Drawing 30); ensure that the blad-der is firmly sealed at full pressure and hasno leaks.

6. If your stabilizing jacket will not be used for aperiod greater than one month, thoroughlyrinse it inside, drain any residual water, andwhen perfectly dry, place it partially inflatedin a cool, ventilated location.

7. To avoid growth of undesired bacteria, disin-fect the inside of the stabilizing jacket period-ically, using products specifically designedfor this purpose, these form part of the Seac-sub accessory range and are available fromyour local Seacsub dealer.

8. At the end of a particularly intense season, orfollowing a long period of inactivity, it issound practice to have your equipment serv-iced by an authorized Seacsub Service Cen-tre for a comprehensive check. We recom-mend that you contact your regular Seacsubretail store who will advise you concerningefficient and safe systems to carry out allnecessary regular maintenance.

Guarantees the correct func-tioning of the product to which this documentis attached.This guarantee has a duration of two (2) yearsin accordance with current European regula-tions.The warranty herein can be enacted accordingto the conditions and limits expressly indicatedbelow:

1. The warranty will have a duration of 2 (two)years, beginning from the moment the prod-uct is acquired from an authorized SEACSUBdealer and does not require any preventiveformality or subsequent validation.

6. This warranty may also be validated by ship-ment of the product believed to be defectiveto SEACSUB. The intermediary authorized tocarry out the shipment must be the SEACSUBdealer from where the product was pur-chased. If this should be impossible, any oth-er SEACSUB dealer, subject to authorization,may be authorized to ship the defective prod-uct. Method for the correct joining between the female andthe male locking system.

Verificata la corretta unione tra il sistema di agganciomaschio e quello femmina spingere con forza la tascaporta piombi fino a scatto avvenuto.

Once identified the correct connection between themale and female locking system, push hard the weightspocket until a complete lock is secured.

ATTENZIONE: ad operazione ultimata verificare ilcorretto bloccaggio effettuando una trazione versol’esterno della tasca porta piombi stessa evitando ditirare la maniglia di sgancio.

WARNING: once the operation is completed, verify thecorrect locking by pulling outwards, by NOT using therelease handle.

Il sistema portapiombi QRWS è stato studiato per un

rilascio della tasca porta piombi senza difficoltà. Tirando

la maniglia di sgancio si attiverà il sistema che permette

la rapida estrazione. Inoltre si consiglia di sollevare il

lembo in velcro della tasca del jacket per agevolare

ulteriormente l’estrazione.

The QRWS weights holder system has been studied for

an easy release of the weights pockets without

difficulties. By pulling the release handle, one will

activate the system which allows the quick removal of

the weights pockets. Furthermore, we suggest to lift the

velcro flap of the BCD pocket in order to further ease

the weights holder removal.

Following the arrow (1) insert the extremity of the belt from the innerside towards the external part of the buckle (between the sewn stirrupand the moving part) From the external side follow the arrow and goback to the inner side between the arrows (3 and 4).

Pass through the opening marked by the arrow (3) and let the beltglide.

Keep the belt stretched, follow the arrow (4) and go back to theexternal side.

Pull firmly and let the buckle overturn. The buckle will close with a sharp click, blocking the back-pack onthe tank.

The fastening is assured. Fix the exceeding belt to the apposite Velcrocloth.

At this point stretch firmly in the indicated direction, so to let the beltfirmly adhere to the tank.
