    RECAP: The Rainiers held a 3-1 lead before allowing 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th as Tacomalost to Round Rock 3-5 on Thursday night. DH Franklin Gutierrez (1x3, R, 2B), 1B Rich

    Poythress (1x3, R, 2B, RBI, BB), LF Nate Tenbrink (1x4, RBI), C Brandon Bantz (1x3) and 3BLeury Bonilla (1x2, BB) each recorded 1 of the Rainiers 5 hits. Starter Taijuan Walker(5.1,4,5,5,4,9,HR) recorded his 3rd loss with Tacoma, allowing runs on 4 hits in 5.1 innings. RHJonathan Arias (1.2,2,0,0,0,0) and RH Josh Kinney (1.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to hold the Expressscoreless over the final 2.2 innings in relief.

    REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Franklin Gutierrez began his 4th rehabilitation assignment withTacoma on Aug. 11. He went 1-for-3 with 1 run scored and 1 double yesterday. Overall he isbatting .219 (37x169) with 24 runs scored, 13 doubles, 3 home runs, 25 RBI, 13 walks and 4 stolenbases in 40 games with AAA Tacoma. Gutierrez was placed on the 15-day DL on J une 25 with astrained right hamstring. He appeared in 2 games (J une 22-23) after being activated from thedisabled list on J une 22. Gutierrez was on the disabled list from April 23-J une 21 with the sameinjury (right hamstring strain). Gutierrez was batting .267 (15x60) with 8 runs scored, 4 doubles, 5home runs (3 leadoff HR) and 11 RBI in 18 games (15 GS in CF) this season for Seattle. This is the6th trip to the DL for Gutierrez since the start of the 2011 season.

    RECAP: DH Dillon Hazlett and RF Kevin Rivers drove in back-to-back runs in the top of the 3rdinning as High Desert defeated Rancho Cucamonga 2-1 on Thursday night. Hazlett (2x4, R, 2B,RBI, SB) led the team with 2 hits, while Rivers (1x4, 2B, RBI), 3B Patrick Kivlehan (1x4), LFPatrick Brady (1x3, 2B, BB), C Steven Baron (1x4) and CF Jabari Henry (1x4, R, 2B) each

The 30 run fell short of the CaliforniaLeague record for most runs by one team in a game, as Fresno scored 34 against Ventura on May 23, 1947. The highest scoring game inCal League history took place at Stater Bros. Stadium on J une 28, 2009, with Lake Elsinore defeating High Desert 33-18.Since 2005, the Mavericks are the 6th minor league team to score at least 25 runs and record at least 30 hits in a game.     The VSL Mariners defeated the VSL Cubs 11-8 in 12 innings yesterday to win the 2013 VSL Championship 2-0. It was the VSL Marine2nd VSL Championship (also 2002). Team finished runner-up in the Championship game in 2012, 2010, 2008 and 2005.

    INF/OF Yordi Calderon hit .343 (82x239) with 68 runs scored, 20 doubles, 3 triples, 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 68 games.
