Eligibility: TorontoDrug of Abuse • Crack/Cocaine

• Heroin/Opiates• Methamphetamine• Not: alcohol or marijuana only

Crimes Non-violent criminal activity which can be connected to the means to obtain or use drugsFor example: drug possession, drug use, non-commercial trafficking, theft, shoplifting, selling stolen goods, non-residential break and enter, prostitution

Characteristics • Adults• Ability to comprehend and participate in program• Mostly long criminal and drug use history• Willingness to be part of program (not mandated)

• Typical sentences for crimes related to drug abuse• Political climate• Types of treatment available in your area/skill level and

resources of treatment provider• Screening and assessment process

• Concurrent Disorders• Poly-drug use• Poverty• “Street-involved”• Trauma Histories• Literacy• Lack of supports
