MARIYA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AL JUBAIL - KSA

MARIYA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (MIS) PRESCHOOL INTRODUCTION

Our beginnings in 2008 were humble. We initially began our preschool with 3 rooms, 4 teachers, 2 assistants

and 27 students. The only motivation that bound our team together and kept us going was a dream that took

years of hard work and utmost dedication to fulfil. What started out as just a passionate desire five years ago

has now become a reality. We now have 279 children, 12 sections, and a team of 50+ diligent staff members.

And now, this reality will soon reach it’s zenith with the commencement of the new city campus. The energy,

the thought and the smallest attention to detail that was put into the making of this state of the art campus

cannot be put into mere words. It is no surprise then that the new city campus is a matter of such pride, not

only for us but also for children who come here and their parents. We encourage you to explore in detail our

school website and encourage you to personally visit our campus which is conveniently located in the heart

of Jubail. We hope that this will serve as a first step in providing you with information on the many aspects

of our school system.

MIS PRESCHOOL VISION AND PHILISOPHY

At MIS Preschool, our goal is to provide children with

a stimulating, education experience. At MIS, we

provide is a safe and nurturing environment in order to

build individual curiosity, creativity, self esteem,

problem solving and social skills. We believe in

building a well balanced and morally strong individual

who can share in and contribute to our community

and beyond.

One of the key strengths of our preschool program is

our experienced and highly conscientious faculty, the

hallmark of which is the conviction that by harnessing

the energy of true, beautiful and meaningful things, we

enable the child to go forth in life with initiative and

purpose. In addition, our customized campus enables

us to provide an emotionally supportive and carefully

structured home like environment where each child is

encouraged to learn at his own accord.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Project Based Learning (PBL) technique is a teaching methodology that focuses on “learning by doing” – a

methodology which forms the crux of our preschool curriculum. Facts are not drummed into a child’s head,

instead, a project emerges that will help the child achieve certain learning objectives.

At MIS Preschool, the project curriculum forges a much closer link between curriculum development and

school life. Thus, our preschool curriculum is dynamic and allows our children to absorb most by

experimenting first and learning first hand by making mistakes.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMMES

Our Preschool program is inspired by the

modern Montessori methods combined with

the PBL approach. We focus on enforcing

learning by providing age appropriate activities

in a developmentally appropriate environment.

In order for children to develop their utmost

potential, it is essential to let them choose

activities within an environment specially

designed to help them fulfil their needs.

It is therefore that painting, singing, puppetry,

playacting, baking intellectual and creative

games and handwork have become the

foundation of our curriculum.

MIS PROGRAMS

Montessori

A child’s world opens up in new ways as he

improves his hand-eye coordination, learns

complex games, and begins to interact more with

his peers.

Our Montessori program introduces language,

maths and science in a logical sequence to

encourage learning one step at a time. During this

time, particular attention is given to the

development of children’s motor skills, cognitive

skills, hand-eye coordination and their social skills.

The small class size also allows our teachers to

provide plenty of individual attention to support

your child’s unique needs.

At MIS, we provide a rich classroom environment

where children are encouraged to explore and are

challenged to learn, while making friends and

developing self confidence. They strengthen their

cognitive skills with fun memory games in which

they match objects that share similar

characteristics. And because children learn best by

doing, we provide opportunities for hands on

experiences such as creating collages which

combines creative expression with a tactile

experience.

At MIS preschool, there are numerous activities going on throughout the academic year. Since kids learn

more by participating in events and having things demonstrated to them in a different and fun oriented

manner, we at MIS try to provide this facet of learning as much as we possibly can. Some of the activities

held at MIS are;

Kindergarten 1

KG1 is a critical time for children as they begin

the adventure of a lifetime of learning. We

promote independence while preparing your child

for the next exciting phase of this life. This we do

by making the transition smoother by helping

children become more familiar with an organized

environment. We focus on group play to develop

social skills, such as listening, sharing and

cooperation. Our teachers have a passion for

what they do, and consider it a privilege to

partner with you during this special time in your

child’s life.

Kindergarten 2

Our KG 2 program is a comprehensive skill

based program, designed to prepare children

for the first grade and success in school. We

want your child to enjoy and appreciate the

educational process. Lessons are tailored to

meet your child’s individual needs and designed

to give children opportunities to explore,

question, communicate and create in a fun,

supportive environment.

world, qualitatively superior education is an

imperative for success. Over the years, education

has assumed a pivotal role in the development of

the acquired acumen of the students to better

upcoming challenges, MIS was founded in 2008.

modern tuck shop in both sections provides

students with oven fresh, home cooked food,

with homemade chicken burgers, chicken

popcorn, chicken patties, sandwiches etc.

Duties of a bus monitor

• Take attendance every day.

If a child is absent for three days, on the 4th day give a call to parents to ask whether they are or aren’t using the bus any more. If not, inform the account section immediately.

• Give a missed call at least 3 minutes before arriving and dropping a child.

• Keep the safety of the students a priority; small children should not sit near the door.

• The bus monitor should see to it that every child sits in his/her place, should not stand and damage the bus seats, fans or floors.

• If there is a delay in the bus arrival due to any reason, give parents a brief call that the bus will be late.

• The bus monitor will take the girls from the girls-side at home time and wait with them in the bus until the boys arrive with the driver.

• If the bus monitor is absent due to any reason, she should call the driver in the morning so that he can give missed calls.

d) Transport MIS owns a fleet of 20 centrally air-conditioned buses. Our buses go on different routes to provide pick and drop service to interested pupils and teachers. Moreover, each bus has a bus assistant who makes sure teachers and students are on time for the bus every morning.
