The family of John McKissick expresses their heartfelt thank

you to everyone at Bethany who so thoughtfully gave their time and talents to ensure

that his memorial service on Monday, December 2nd, progressed smoothly. The words

spoken by both Pastor Mitch and Pastor Mark were caring and thoughtful and touched

our hearts in a very special way. Michael’s music was amazing, and the vocalists

reached out and touched our souls. Jack’s attention to detail made each transition flow

smoothly, and Lawrence and his group of ushers made sure that we were all well cared

for. Shirley’s “Helping Hands” group of ladies provided a wonderful meal for our family

and made sure that everyone had exactly what they needed. Danny worked hard to

make sure that we all were able to receive DVDs of the service to add to our

keepsakes. So many others behind the scenes were there to make sure that we all were

comfortable and had whatever we needed. The kindness of the hundreds of people

who visited and attended his service gave us the strength to withstand a very emotional

day. We have received so much from so many, and we cherish the love, support, and

prayers that will sustain us as we learn to adjust to our lives without our loved one’s

earthly presence. Thank you so much.

KidsCare News February is the “Love Month” around

KidsCare! We are learning Bible verses

that speak of love this month! We are

doing acts of kindness this month. If

you love with your “Jesus Heart” then

you love unconditionally. He loves us

and talks to his Father for us. There

was a popular song a few years ago

that painted the picture of getting to heaven and being met

at the gate by Jesus. He takes you to God and says, “Here

Father, please let this one in because he is with me!” Let us

pray that we can learn to love like Jesus! HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY and remember to love others with

your “Jesus heart.”

Bethany Happy Hearts Bethany Happy Hearts Luncheon – Friday, February 28th

The next luncheon meeting of Bethany Happy Hearts will be on Friday, February 28th at 12:00 noon.

The guests will be The DUOvers make their home in Lexington, SC. Lead singer and guitarist, Van Bowers, grew up in Travelers Rest, SC and found a love for clas-sic country, rock, and bluegrass music at an early age. After receiving his first gui-tar as a present from his girlfriend and now wife, he taught himself to play and has followed his love (wife and guitar), ever since playing and singing with several lo-cal bands. Lead guitarist Lewis (Sharkey) Taylor started playing in Honky Tonks in and around his hometown of Augusta, Georgia at age 15. Lewis has been a “go to” guitarist over the years for several bands of different genres, and he spent several years out on the road as a touring musician. The latest member of the band is drummer Mike Danielsen (Mike is the Prevattes’ nephew-in-law). Mike is an expe-rienced drummer having played in several bands over the years. As a trained ge-ologist and drummer, Mike has naturally earned the name “Dr. Rock.” The DUOvers bring a fun filled show, covering classics from artists such as Johnny Cash, Way-lon Jennings, and Merle Haggard. If the crowd wants to rock, the DUOvers can bring that too, covering classics from artists such as Chuck Berry, Elvis, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Rolling Stones, and many more.

Bethany Happy Hearts Luncheon is always open to all Bethany Members and their guests who would like to attend, but reservations are required. Both members and guests must call Linda Field at 843-832-9925 or email her at [email protected] to make reservations by Sunday, February 23rd.

Our menu for the February meeting includes ham with ccallop otatoes, steamed carrots with a ginger garlic butter, salad bar, frog eye salad for dessert, roll w/butter, and tea/water, with lemon. The cost of the meal is $8 per person.

Bethany Happy Hearts Games Day – Friday, February 14th

“Bethany Happy Hearts Games Day” has been a success. We meet on the 2nd Friday of each month at the church in Room 118 from 11:30 a.m. until …. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play these games, someone will teach you. The object is to have fun. Everyone that en-joys playing card or board games is welcome to join us. February also brings Valentine’s Day. We’ll celebrate love and friendship with the exchange of valentines. Our children in the 3’s and 4’s classes will be visiting the Fire Station this month. Touring the station and seeing the fire engines is always great fun! You are always welcome to join us for our Chapel on February 10th and 11th at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary or visit any morning between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. We’d love to show you what we do!

castle in a frozen land - they will learn how to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of God’s

Power. They’ll become Knights on a journey to find the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Justice,

the Shoes of Peace, the Shield of Faith and the Helmet of Salvation!

completed 7th grade and up. Registration will open March 1st for Bethany families only. On March 15th, registration will open

to the public. Register early as we fill up fast! The $15.00 per participant collected will go to help

offset the cost of a program of this size and scope.
