• Recent Performance Activities

– UI Benchmark on Sun OEL

• Goal: Prove linear scalability on web tier for UI processing

• Result: Achieved linear scalability, response degraded after 300 auto users, linearity returned by adding a second web server

• Other benefits: identified and corrected some single threaded web functions

– Order XML Benchmark on Sun OEL

• Goal: Process XML integration through order creation in 1 sec per

• Result: 16 orders / second (24 orders / second scaled)

• Other benefits: Proved new data queue feature in 6.2


Performance

• Recent Performance Activities (continued)

– Client Integration prepare for Go-Live

• Goal: Process 200,000+ i_transmissions per hour

• Result: 230,000+ achieved (limited by sending system)

Question #1

• Why are upgrades so much fun???

– We design our features to not change behavior immediately, so we will keep existing behavior for a release or two and then deprecate the old behavior, then remove it. This works well when migrating from a previous release or two, but doesn’t help when the upgrade spans 4 or 5 releases, as most do. We will be looking at ways to alleviate this, but nothing in the short term.


Question #2

• What is the next big thing for OTM / GTM?

– In the 6.x timeframe, we added GTM (Global Trade Management) and Fleet Management. These were two major initiatives / offerings that, while robust, are still relatively new offerings. We intend to continue to build these out aggressively and continue to add depth to our base product and options. Other major areas of investment are Mobility and Multi-tier. Our Multi-tier solution will be unique in the industry and set us well beyond anything any of our competitors can do.
