• Another TBM attack into Kuwait yesterday
• Airborne forces enter Northern Iraq
• Coalition forces continue to attack Republican Guard and Regular Army forces and weapons
• Coalition efforts ongoing against Iraqi para-military forces who are disrupting rear area security
• Oil well fire mitigation efforts continue– 3 burning oil wells remain to be extinguished

• CA assessments continue at a pace commensurate with the local security conditions
• KU and US military state, traveling to Iraq is still unstable. Close interaction with HOC prior to departure is highly recommended to ensure receipt of the most recent security updates

• Construction continues on water pipeline to Umm Qasr; still on track for 30 March opening

Umm Qasr
• Limited opening of port today
• Will progressively become more capable– Securing and repairing facilities– Dredging operations will enable operations of
larger vessels
