NEWSLETTER 3.4 TERM 3 (2017)
Dear Parents and Carers With only one week of our jam-packed Term Three remaining it’s a good time to slacken
the pace of life a little – and to be consciously more gentle with one another in our
families – both at home and here at MTCC. It’s also a good time to acknowledge some
wonderful achievements:
CONGRATULATIONS to our own athletes acknowledged later in this newsletter as
Champions and Runners up at our own MTCC Athletics Carnival.
Congratulations also to our squad of students who were all praiseworthy ambassadors
of our college at our first Interschool Athletics Carnival on Wednesday this week.
Working together as our MTCC Interschool Athletics team, they brought home all three
shields on offer – Team Games, Handicap Shield and the Overall Athletics Interschool
Sports shield for their division! Special thanks to Mrs Davies, and to the staff and
parents who assisted in various roles at these successful events.
Yesterday we celebrated R U OK? day in style, with the help of a parent’s drone which
was generously loaned to us for the occasion – Thank you Mr Ian Newlands! Still photos
from the drone were shown to students and parents at yesterday afternoon’s Assembly.
Below is an extract from another parent’s email which we received this morning:
“Would just like to praise the school on the organisation of the R U OK day today. The
drone photo looked amazing and more importantly my 2 boys came home delighted
with the time spent with their older faction buddies. . . . . . .Thank you to all who
organised and helped my boys to truly understand what the day was all about.”

Thanks to Robyn Dixon (our KidsMatter/Wellbeing Team Convenor) and Charlotte Morgan (our Making Jesus Real
Team Convenor) for organising the morning’s activities.
BEFORE-SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS
At yesterday’s Assembly all present were reminded that children who arrive at school before 8:15am are required
to be registered to attend OSHClub. There should not be 25 children (as there were yesterday morning – some
from as early as 7:45am) wandering around the school and not registered in OSHClub before 8:15am any morning.
Children who arrive at school between 8:15am and 8:30am are required to sit in the Covered Area where they will
be supervised by an MTCC teacher. The OSHClub children who have arrived earlier (from 7am) may also be in the
Covered Area at this time, but in a differentt demarcated area of the 340sqm space. OSHClub cannot have more
than 22 children housed in the multi-purpose room, which they would normally use before school except for those
mornings when more than 22 children are registered to attend.
Parents will be contacted if children continue to arrive before 8:15am without being enrolled in OSHClub for that
morning. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
May God continue to be blessing for each of us.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Our athletics carnival was on the 25th August this term and was held down at the Eighty Road reserve. This was our first PP-Yr6 carnival and all of the student had a great time. A huge thank you to the parents who volunteered to help throughout the day. The carnival wouldn’t have happened without you. Congratulations to KAAL who won the overall shield followed very closely by BOODJAR, KEP and MAAR.

Each class has a donation box for toiletries. These donations will be collected at the end of Term 3 and given to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. They make up toiletries kits to be given to those in need in our community, for example the homeless and the sick.

MTCC SPORTS CLUB Auskick 2017 The MTCC Auskick program has concluded for the year. This year we had 36 participants, ranging in age from PP to Year 4. Auskickers gathered each Wednesday afternoon at Eighty Road Reserve to learn a range of AFL skills including kicking, handballing, and gamesmanship. It was terrific to see the children participate so enthusiastically in the weekly drills and games. We concluded with a wind-up and medal presentation on 16th August, which was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Baldivis Pharmacy for their generous donation of a first aid kit, which luckily we did not use (except for the odd bandaid!) Thanks also to Talk the Talk Speech Pathology for donating afternoon tea for our first session and our wind up. Thank you to all parents who helped the coaches by volunteering to man goals and umpire during the season. Your assistance was greatly appreciated. Dave Forbes Auskick Coach
