Introducción / Introduction

La nueva gama de rack para servidores desarrollada por SME

has sido especialmente diseñada para obtener un producto

sumamente robusto, flexible y adaptable (modular). El diseño

ha sido concebido para conseguir la integridad y disponibilidad

de los servicios y sistemas relativos al entorno de los Data

Centers, sin dejar atrás un fuerte compromiso con el medio

ambiente a través de soluciones pensando en la eficiencia

energética y baja emisión.

The new range of server racks developed by SME has been

specially designed to achieve a highly robust, flexible and

adaptable product (modular). The design has been conceived to achieve the integrity and availability of the services and

systems related to Data Centers conditions, without neglecting a strong commitment with the environment by means of

solutions thought for power efficiency and low emission.

EfiCab le permite de una forma más sencilla, no solo albergar servidores enracables, servidores

blade, etc., sino el poder almacenar todo un conjunto de equipamiento útil y de alto valor

añadido (routers, gateways, codificadores, KVM, PDUs…)

Eficab enables, in a simple way, not only the housing of rack mounted servers, blade servers, etc.

but the storage of a full set of very useful and value added equipment (routers, gateways,

encoders, KVM, PDU’s…)

EfiCube es un sistema de gestión de flujos de aire que consigue la

separación del aire frío y el retorno del aire caliente dentro de un Data

Center, logrando así la máxima eficiencia térmica y manteniendo el

compromiso medioambiental de SME de acuerdo a los estándares del

Green Data Center

EfiCube is a flow management system that achieves the separation of cold

air from return hot air in a Data Center. This way the maximum thermal

efficiency can be achieved, maintaining the environmental commitment of

SME according to the new Green Data Center Standards.

Gestión de Flujo de Aire / Air Flow Management

Unidad ventilación posterior / Rear heat extraction unit

Unidad diseñada para crear una ventilación horizontal en el rack de modo que el aire caliente

generado por los equipos sea expulsado por la puerta trasera doble del bastidor. Este tipo de

ventilación es apropiada para escenarios con equipos de aire acondicionado en sala, de forma que

se mantenga una arquitectura de instalación de racks en esquema pasillo frío - pasillo caliente. Los

ventiladores funcionan al máximo de velocidad y no tienen alarma de fallo.

Hasta 12 ventiladores axiales por hoja montados en la puerta posterior del bastidor (en módulos de

4 ventiladores). Se consigue un flujo de aire de 2x12x120= 2880 m3/h, con una eficiencia > 660

w/ºK.

This unit is designed to create a horizontal ventilation/heat extraction from the rack. Therefore the

hot air generated by the equipment is expelled through the double rear door of the rack. This type of

ventilation is suitable for environments with room air conditioning following the hot - cold corridor

layout. The fans operate at maximum speed and they do not have failure alarm.

Up to 12 axial fans (in 4 fans modules) mounted in each door (rear double door configuration). An

airflow of 2x12x120=2.880 m3/h can be obtained with an efficiency > 660w/ºK

Unidad Extracción de Aire Chimenea posterior / Rear Chimney Heat extraction unit

Unidad diseñada para acoplarse en la parte trasera del EfiCab como puerta.

Recoge el aire caliente de los equipos conduciéndolo directamente al falso techo.

Ayuda a la eliminación de los puntos calientes (Hot Spots) en los Data Center, en

especial en los racks de alta densidad. Cada ventilador tiene su propia alarma que

se conecta al RMS (Rack Monitoring System de SME) y los ventiladores son

variables, es decir, a más temperatura aumentan la velocidad para desplazar mas

aire caliente hacia el plenum del techo técnico aumentado su eficiencia energética

y reduciendo la contaminación acústica.

Hasta 4 ventiladores por puerta montados dentro de la puerta. Se consigue un

flujo de aire de 1.960 m3/h a 50Hz o 2.280 m

3/h a 60Hz (velocidad máxima).

Unit designed to substitute the rear door of the EfiCab. It creates a horizontal

ventilation/heat extraction conducting the hot air directly to the technical ceiling.

The hot air is expelled through the chimney avoiding hot spots, especially in high

density racks. The four fans installed have each one its own failure alarm that is

connected to the RMS (Rack Monitoring System from SME) and they operate in a

configurable variable speed according to the temperature, using energy efficiency

and reducing noise contamination.

Up to 4 radial fans (in 4 fans modules) mounted in each door (rear double door

configuration). An airflow of 2x12x120=2.880 m3/h can be obtained with an efficiency > 660w/ºK

It is a vertical ventilation system to be installed at the bottom part of the rack. It is

designed to capture the cold air from the technical floor and push it up along the

front of the rack in order to optimise the cooling efficiency inside.

Sistema de gestión de flujos para conseguir la separación del flujo de aire

frío y el retorno del aire caliente dentro de un Data Center, logrando así la

máxima eficiencia térmica y manteniendo el compromiso medioambiental

de SME de acuerdo a los estándares del Green Data Center.

EfiCube es un sistema diseñado por SME para el control de flujo de aire en

las instalaciones de Data Center donde hoy en día se exige la mayor

eficiencia térmica posible.

Para cada Data Center se ha de realizar un estudio detallado para saber

exactamente qué elementos de ventilación de nuestro portfolio se

necesitan instalar en cada sistema para lograr la máxima eficiencia térmica

de esa instalación. Esto, combinado con la instalación de tapas ciegas frontales para eliminar los flujos o perdidas

innecesarias de aire en el frontal del rack, cepillos pasa cables para facilitar el paso del cableado evitando el flujo de aire y las

tapas que cierran las zonas no utilizadas de paso de cables para evitar el flujo de aire, completan el sistema diseñado por

SME para la gestión de Aire más eficiente dentro del

rack y por lo tanto dentro del Data Center.

EfiCube, the ACS (Air Containment System) designed by

SME, helps the separation of cold supply air from hot

return air in a Data Center improving energy efficiency.

This ACS, together with the rest of accessories designed by

us for air flow management in the Data Center such as

high density rear door chimney, Floor Tangential

Ventilation Unit, Front Panel Cover and Side Panels

Covers, contribute in a very significant way to the

Energy Saving Plan, and therefore, all the energy cost

used for cooling together with CapEx and OpEx savings.

EfiCube is a system designed by SME to control the air management in Data Centers where they required the best thermal

efficiency as possible.

For each Data Center, we made a research to know exactly the flow elements of our portfolio that need to be installed to

achieve the maximum efficiency in our installation. This has to be combined with blanking panels to eliminate flow or loose of

air and also the use of covers closing the area not used to cable management to avoid flow management complete the system

designed for SME to managed the air flow more efficient inside the rack, and therefore inside Data Center.
