NOAA/NWS Satellite Training Actions

1. The SURT will reconvene for a short period of time to identify the user readiness performance objectives. Performance objectives will be delivered to the OCLO and NOAT (due date: July 10)

2. The OCLO will derive learning objectives from the performance objectives (due date: July 31)

3. The OCLO will map existing training, available both internally and externally, to the NWS to the learning objectives (due date: July 31)

4. Jim Gurka’s group will identify the gaps, identify needed revisions: October 1 Propose October 8 (NEW)

5. Identify participants for review of the inventory, and specify what resources are required for completing the review (STI): October 1 (NEW)

6. SOO Advisors to the OCLO will meet and perform review of satellite inventory: November 1 (NEW)

7. OCLO assesses level of effort to execute revisions and prepare course material: November 30. (NEW)

8. NOAT and SOO Advisors to the OCLO will identify liaison or other SME’s to assist OCLO in training development: November 30. (NEW)

9. NOAT will make presentation to STI on proposed GOES-R foundational training: December 10. (NEW)

10. The Himawari-8 intellectual property and training materials developed by CIMSS will be transferred to OCLO: November 1. Training will be during week of November 16 in Guam.

11. The OCLO meet with COMET to develop a user readiness assessment to be used by the SOOs (due date: October 30)

12. The OCLO will deliver foundational training (due date: 6 months after beginning of training development - NEW Due Date)

13. OPG will load the Sport EDPT on their AWIPS2 system and evaluate as a potential framework tool to share “just in time” training

14. NOAT will work with Sport and AWIPS2 to get the Sport EDPT implemented in time for the Oct/Nov DOE4 GOES-R readiness test.
