Remote Web Workplace includes a Web-based version of Outlook, which is called Outlook Web Access (OWA). When you are traveling or working from home, you can read your e-mail and manage your mailbox and calendar in much the same way as you do from the office. For example, you can:

Using Remote Web Workplace, you can connect to your computer at work so you can work with your data and programs as though you were there. To connect to your work computer, simply log on to Remote Web Workplace and click Connect to my computer at work from the main menu. Choose your computer from the Computer Names list, and then click Connect. The connection looks and behaves the same as if you were sitting in front of your computer at work. It’s that easy!

When you are away from the office, you can use Remote Web Workplace to quickly and easily access documents and other information that is stored on your company’s internal Web site.If you have permission to remotely access your company’s computer network, all you have to do is log on to Remote Web Workplace and then click Use my company's internal Web site.

If you are using Outlook 2003, and your computer is connected to the Internet, you can remotely access your company mailbox even though you are working outside your organization's firewall. You do not need any special security-related hardware or software, and you do not need to establish a separate connection to the server by using either Remote Web Workplace or Connection Manager.When you use Outlook via the Internet to access your company mailbox, you have the full functionality of Outlook at your fingertips. For more information and step-by-step instructions about how to configure your computer to use this feature, click Configure your computer to use Outlook via the Internet on the main menu for Remote Web Workplace.

When you need more information about the tools and features that the Windows SBS computer network provides, you should first consult the Information and Answers page on your company’s internal Web site.The Information and Answers page contains information about common topics, such as how to send faxes, share documents, work with your mailbox and calendar, and use Windows Mobile devices to stay connected when you are away from the office.To access the Information and Answers page, you can either log on to Remote Web Workplace and click View Remote Web Workplace help, or click Information and Answers in the list of links on the home page of your company’s internal Web site at http://companyweb.

If you have permission to remotely access your company’s network, simply open your Web browser and enter the Internet address for your Remote Web Workplace. You should receive an e-mail message that contains this address from the person who is responsible for your network.On the logon page for Remote Web Workplace, specify your connection speed and whether you are accessing the page from a public computer, and then click Log On.

When you need to access the company network, but you do not have a connection to the Internet, use Connection Manager.Connection Manager is a small program that automates the process of establishing a connection to your company network. It can be used for any type of connection (such as a connection through a dial-up modem or an “always on” cable connection), and it works with most versions of Microsoft Windows.You can easily install Connection Manager from Remote Web Workplace, as the next page shows.

To download and install Connection Manager, log on to Remote Web Workplace and then click Download Connection Manager. When the File Download dialog box appears, click Run and then follow the onscreen instructions.
