7. This is the “Flex Page” and type of screen that you will work with often. Just think of it as a Microsoft Word process. Whatever you type in the space below will show up on the page you have created.

To insert a File Link (file attachment) click the paper clip icon and you will be directed to a three step process. “Select new file from my computer or network…” To upload file, choose “browse,” click on the file you want to download, choose “Next,” type the name of the file that students will download in “Link Text” space, and choose “Insert File.” Don’t forget to “Save” and make the page “Active.”

Your new pages will appear under “Contents” on the left side of your home page. When you click onto your new page, you will be directed to the page you created with the file link. If you click onto the blue highlighted and underlined file name, it will allow you to open or download that file.

To insert an image or attachment, use these buttons

To view the new changes to your page, click “View Website”

8. To insert an image, click onto the icon of an image left of the “paper clip” icon. In this three step process, you can choose to download pictures from your own personal library (“Select new image from my computer or network…”), or from Schoolwires’ index of images (“Select image from Schoolwires Clipart Library”). Choose the image category, find the image you need, select “Next,” type in a short description for “Alt.Text,” and “Select Image.” From here, you will probably have to resize and move the image to make it work for you.

This is your new web page, complete with image and a downloadable file link of vocabulary.

9. To create a “Link Library,” a web page of website links, refer to page 1 and choose “Link Library” from “Available Page Types.” Then create a “Page Name,” such as “Constitution Links (see p. 2),” and save it. This will direct you to your “Current Pages.” At this point, choose your new “Link Library” page. To insert new links and click onto the “New Link” button. Type in a title for your link and click “Next.”

At this point, provide a brief description, type in or paste the website address, make the page “Active,”and hit “Save.” Continue adding links in the same manner. To view your new page of web links, click “View Website.”

If you don’t want students to manipulate your files, make sure you “save as” a PDF file. Just repeat the process to create more web pages. If you have any questions contact Mr. Gentile in Room 8 for help.
