1 THE BEGINNING The company, Himalayan Times Pvt. Ltd. Was incorporated in the year 2002, by a group of dedicated and visionary entrepreneurs at Bangalore, Karnataka (The IT hub of India). From a very humbler beginning of importing world famous branded watches & analog cameras (Samsung) to India the Company has emerged a leader in the competitive world of IT products by its own Brand name NAV-TECH. Owing to its excellent product quality, innovative product designs and competitive pricing the brand name NAV-TECH has gained quick popularity in the Indian IT market. The company, Himalayan Times Pvt. Ltd. Was incorporated in the year 2002, by a group of dedicated and visionary entrepreneurs at Bangalore, Karnataka (The IT hub of India).

STEP TOWARDS ORGANIZED RETAIL DISTRIBUTION

Recently, Indian Economy has been rated the second fasted in the world and going by the principal of PPP – Purchasing Power Parity, the Indian Economy is considered to be the fourth largest.

India achieved 7.6 GDP Growth in 2005 and India’s individual purchasing power inclined from US$ 2149 in 1999 to US$ 5653 per person in 2020 and than it is all said to climb US$ 16500 in 2040.

This rapid growth is largely attributed to India’s growing middle class. At present middle class constitutes about 23% of the population & it is expected to grow by 57% annually.

If India continue to grow at an annual rate of 7% and with population growing annually by 1.5%, keeping in mind the middle class growth of the past 15 years half of the India will turn middle class by 2040.

After analyzing the above facts in detail in year 2005 Board of Directors decided to transform HIMALAYAN TIMES PVT. LTD. into a well organized Networked Distribution Company.

To cater mass middle class population of India, HIMALAYAN TIMES PVT. LTD. Decided to introduce five world class FMCG brands, which resulted into introduction of TRISA into INDIA.
