• LIFT developments also offer potential financial savingsshared services, more effective use of space and more efficient buildings can reduce overheads

modern and flexible facilities, designed to meet the diverse health and wellbeing needs of disadvantaged and often rapidly changing populations

• In areas where a significant numberof residents suffer from socio-economicdisadvantage including poor health and wellbeing.

• LIFT has brought care closer to patients and is facilitatingmuch better access to a greater range of services available under one roof, resulting in improved quality services

• LIFT has also enabled other programmes aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and more outpatient activity.

Provision of new community settings for services has also led to greater take up.

• Even a relatively small centre such as Sedbergh in Cumbria, contains consulting rooms, ‘soft rooms’ for counselling services, treatment roomsfor minor surgery, facilities for physiotherapy and chiropody, a small ward for Sedbergh school and training/conference space.
