Measurement principleMeasurement principle

The laser emitter is mounted at one end of the machine and shoots through the

approximate center of the bores to be measured

The receiver is mounted on a special

bracket which allows the receiver to be

freely rotated within the bore

The assembly is placed in the bore so thatthe receiver is near the center

The plunger, or measurement tip, is

extended to make contact with the surface

of the bore

The rounded tip on the plunger ensures a

single point of contact to accuratelytranslate surface position to the detector

Inside the receiver, the detector measures

the position of the incident beam and the angle

Only 5 Points over 90 anywhere along

the bore are needed for accurate results

Over long distances and long measurement periods, the laser stability is subject to be

impacted by variation in air density, temperature or light

To secure measurement accuracy, an additional fixed sensor monitoring the laser drift at theend ofthe machine is introduced: the control sensor

X At the beginning of the measurement process the laser position is recorded as the

reference position for the entire duration ofthe measurement

Constructed with highest standard and top quality materials to guarantee the best

rigidity and the smallest clearance

A fix base keeps the bracket frame in place within the bore as a fixed reference

during all the bore measurement

A rotating sensor holder prolonged by a plunger enables the sensor to be quickly

centered and freely rotated within the bore to measure very accurately any part of

the bore independently of the fix support

This unique features combined with the system ability to measure more than 3

points at any angular position offer an incredible measurement flexibility and

allows to determine the potential bore ovalization
