church family.• A Christian without a church family is an
ORPHAN.
That I will commit myself to CHRIST and to the CHURCH FAMILY.
Class Basics
Why am I here?
God made me to LOVE me!
We were created to ENJOY personal relationship with God and to MANAGE all of the rest of God’s creation! This makes us special!
What’s the problem?
Man has a natural desire to BE BOSS and to ignore God’s principles for living.
The Bible calls this attitude: SIN.
What does God want me to do?
Obey the GOSPEL
What is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the DEATH , BURIAL, and RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ.
How do I obey the Gospel?
• I apply Jesus’ death through REPENTANCE.• I apply Jesus’ burial through WATER
BAPTISM.• I apply Jesus resurrection through
RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Repent of your sins BELIEVE that Jesus died to pay for your sins,
and that He rose again, and is alive today. ADMIT that God has not been first place in
your life and ask Him to forgive your sins. DECLARE that you will no longer have control
of your own life. INVITE Jesus Christ to come into your life and
be the director (“Lord”) of your life.
Why should I be baptized? The Bible indicates water baptism is part
of SALVATION. Because Jesus COMMANDS it. Because the Apostles COMMAND it. To follow the example set by JESUS.
What is the meaning of baptism?
Baptism is how my sins are WASHED AWAY .
Baptism is how I am BURIED with Jesus
Why be baptized by immersion? Because JESUS was baptized that way. Every baptism in the BIBLE was by
immersion. The word “Baptize” means to DIP
UNDER water.” It best symbolizes a BURIAL .
Why be baptized in the name of Jesus?
It is the baptismal formula taught by PETER.
This was the baptismal formula taught by PAUL.
No other baptismal mode was practiced in the BIBLE!
Who should be baptized?Every person who has BELIEVED in
Christ and has repented should be baptized.
What is the Holy Spirit? It is a PROMISE OF GOD.
It is the indwelling SPIRIT OF GOD.
Why receive the Holy Spirit? It is a part of the NEW BIRTH
EXPERIENCE. It is your RESURRECTION POWER. It will lead you to all TRUTH. It is our COMFORTER.
How do I receive the Holy Spirit? BELIEVE that it is real and it is for you. ASK for it. Begin to praise the Lord and THANK
Him for it.
How will I know I have received the Holy Spirit?
You will speak with other TONGUES.

Beware of ENVY & COMPETITION because they result in confusion and evil things.
How should Christians treat one another?
Government is ordained and appointed by GOD.
If we resist the power we resist the ordinance of God and bring JUDGMENT on ourselves.
Christians should PAY THEIR TAXES.
Attitude toward Government
Jesus said that the mouth speaks about what is in the HEART.
Jesus went on to explain that we will give account for our WORDS -- by them we will either be justified or condemned.
Our Tongue Affects Relationships
GuiltHe who covers his sins will not prosper, But
whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Proverbs 28:13
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Hindrances to Good Relationships
Blame and AngerWhen God asked Adam if he ate the fruit
of the tree in Genesis 3:12, instead of taking responsibility for his actions, he responded by BLAMING Eve for giving him a bite of it.
Hindrances to Good Relationships

devil. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NKJV) Angry feelings are not a sin -- IMPROPER

feelings? BEFORE THE DAY IS OVER

Divine Order for the Family
How to Have a Christian Family
Christ
Father
Mother
Children
God's delegated authority does not give anyone the right to become tyrants! It is not about power it is about SERVING. The higher the higher your rank, the greater your duty.
How to Have a Christian Family
What is the responsibility of leadership?
Leadership is responsible to watch for the SOULS placed under their authority.
They must be careful to execute their authority carefully because they must give an ACCOUNT TO GOD.
How to Have a Christian Family
Two key words sum up the New Testament teaching of the husband's responsibility to his wife:
•HONOR
•LOVE
The Husband's Responsibility to His Wife
Love:How many times does Ephesians 5 tell the
husband to love his wife? FOUR TIMES How are men to love their wives? "...just
as Christ also loved the CHURCH and gave HIMSELF for her..." Marriage is a type of Christ and the Church.
The Husband's Responsibility to His Wife
Love:Calvary lets us know that love is more than
just an EMOTION, love is a SACRIFICE.Our marriages must not be built upon the
sands of SELFISH desires and unstable EMOTIONS, but upon bedrock LOVE.
The Husband's Responsibility to His Wife
Honor:1 Peter 3:7 tells the husband to HONOR his
wife. The word "honor" in verse 7 is the same
Greek word translated "PRECIOUS" in 1 Peter 1:19 speaking of the "precious" blood of Jesus.
The Husband's Responsibility to His Wife
Honor: Proverbs 31:10 tells us the worth of a
virtuous wife is "... Far above RUBIES." What can happen if the husband does not
treat his wife tenderly and honor her as joint-heir of the grace of life? HIS PRAYERS MAY BE HINDERED
The Husband's Responsibility to His Wife
Two key words sum up the New Testament teaching of the wife's responsibility to her husband.
•SUBMISSION
•RESPECT
The Wife's Responsibility to Her Husband
SUBMISSION:
A wife's PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY is to give of herself, her time and her energy to her husband, children and home.
The Wife's Responsibility to Her Husband
Two key word sum up the New Testament teaching of the child's responsibility to his parents.
•OBEY•HONOR
Parent-Child Responsibilities
Obey:Ephesians 6:1 says that children are to OBEY
their parents in the Lord for this is RIGHT.Colossians 3:20 tells us that GOD is pleased
when children obey their parents.
Parent-Child Responsibilities
Obey:Romans 1:30 lists disobedience to parents
as one of the characteristics of a REPROBATE.
1 Samuel 15:23 compares rebellion to the sin of WITCHCRAFT and stubbornness as INIQUITY AND IDOLATRY.
Parent-Child Responsibilities
Honor:What is promised to children who honor
their parents? THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH
Parent-Child Responsibilities
Responsible parents are to:1) Teach their children2) Discipline their children
The motive behind discipline should be LOVE.
Ephesians 6:4 commands us not to "PROVOKE our children to WRATH".
Parent-Child Responsibilities
3) Protect their children The home should home should be an
extension of the Church. A haven and a sanctuary, a place of REFUGE from the world.
You cannot control the environment of the World, but you can control the environment of your HOME.
Deuteronomy 11:21 likens the home where the Word of God is obeyed to "HEAVEN ON EARTH".
