LEADING EDGE DESIGN, ENHANCED DRIVING ENJOYMENT

For the new RX we challenged ourselves with creating the best, most innovative,

luxury crossover ever built – a car engineered without compromise, and capable

of resetting benchmarks for performance, comfort and craftsmanship. We started

by designing a bold new Lexus ‘face’ with class-leading aerodynamics. Next, our

engineers developed an innovative new Lexus Hybrid Drive for the RX 450h and

an incredibly smooth V6 petrol engine for the RX 350. Equipped with advanced

technologies like Remote Touch – and available as an F SPORT model – the new

RX is extraordinarily enjoyable to drive. To achieve this, we drove countless laps on

the gruelling Nürburgring racetrack, proving – quite literally – that we don’t stop

until we create amazing.

FULL HYBRID POWER, EV MODE

Thrilling to drive, the new RX 450h crossover delivers the responsive steering of

a luxury sedan, but with the flexibility of a large SUV. Powered by a potent second-

generation Lexus Hybrid Drive, this pioneering Lexus intelligently combines a 3.5-litre

V6 petrol engine with two high-output electric motors. For rapid acceleration, the

RX 450h delivers thrilling power, achieving 0 – 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds, while

using just 6.3 l/100 km of fuel on the combined cycle. Or select EV (Electric Vehicle)

mode to drive in near silence, using no petrol and emitting zero CO2 or NOX. The

RX 450h is also very practical; the hybrid battery never needs external charging

and occupies minimum room, resulting in generous luggage space.

RX 350 ENHANCED REFINEMENT

V6 CROSSOVER LUXURY

True to the pioneering spirit of the very first RX, the new RX 350 offers a completely

new level of crossover enjoyment, advanced engineering and luxurious refinement.

The car is powered by an extremely smooth 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, with dual

Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i), that delivers 277 DIN hp of power via

a new Active Torque Control All-Wheel Drive system. For maximum enjoyment,

the new RX 350 also features a 6-speed paddle shift transmission with Artificial

Intelligence-SHIFT. This ingeniously tracks the road conditions and your driving

style, adjusting the shift pattern accordingly for maximum driving pleasure. In its

beautiful interior, intuitive Remote Touch lets you control advanced technology like

Mark Levinson® audio or HDD Navigation.

ARRIVE WITH PRESENCE

NEW L-FINESSE DESIGN, CLASS-LEADING AERODYNAMICS

The GS sedan has been created using a bold, new version of our L-finesse design

language. Starting from scratch, our designers have given the GS a totally new

look, the focal point being its dramatic, purposeful front ‘spindle grille’. Jewel-like

headlights greatly enhance driver vision, while LED daytime running lights give it

an unmistakable aura. In profile, the car’s muscular stance contrasts its lean waistline

and long streamlined cabin section, to give it unique presence and exceptional

roominess for up to five occupants. Underlying the powerful form, extended wheel

arches hint at superb, dynamic handling. Innovations that contribute to the car’s

class-leading aerodynamics include smooth underbody covers and closable vents

on the GS 450h’s radiator grille, with fins on the rear lights increasing driving stability

and reducing wind noise inside the cabin.

THE FACE OF PROGRESS

LEXUS ‘SPINDLE GRILLE’, CLASS-LEADING AERODYNAMICS

The RX has been created using a bold, new version of our L-finesse (L = Leading

edge) design language. Featuring a strong and expressive front design – with

an elegant new Lexus signature ‘spindle grille’ – this stunning crossover is more

dynamic than ever. Jewel-like headlights enhance vision, while arrowhead-shaped

LED daytime running lights underline this crossover’s distinctive look. The sleek

and long cabin section gives both powerful presence and generous space inside.

Beautifully streamlined, class-leading aerodynamics result from features like smooth

underbody covers, air suspension that lowers the car for less wind resistance, and

the integration of the wiper blade inside the rear spoiler.

F SPORT DYNAMIC ENJOYMENT

F SPORT STYLING, 19-INCH ALLOYS

The new RX 450h F SPORT and RX 350 F SPORT are unmistakably dynamic

and fun to drive, with assertive front-end styling, mesh intake grilles and 19-inch alloy

wheels. Developed by an experienced team of Lexus ‘Drive Meisters’, the RX F SPORT

offers an incredibly precise and engaging drive. For an even more exhilarating

experience, the new F SPORT model is fitted with front and rear performance

dampers to increase handling stability, while in SPORT mode the throttle is retuned

for more responsive acceleration. Inside, the cockpit features leather sports seats;

aluminium pedals on the RX 450h F SPORT, metallic inlay panels and scuff plates;

with the steering wheel and gearshift finished in perforated leather.

INNOVATIVE PERFORMANCE

DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION, VDIM

Developed in the world’s most advanced driving simulator, and then tested over

many hundreds of thousands of kilometres, the new RX handles with all the poise

and precision of our luxury sedans. Innovative All-Wheel Drive technology delivers

superb road holding, particularly when cornering, and offers confident traction over

rougher terrain. Achieved by engineering a stiffer chassis and developing a new

double wishbone rear suspension for less body roll, the RX’s high-speed performance

was exhaustively tested on the world-famous Nürburgring in Germany. State-of-

the-art Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) is fitted as standard on

the RX. This seamlessly anticipates difficult situations, making torque and braking

corrections as required.

A NEW LEVEL OF LUXURY

SUMPTUOUS LEATHER SEATS, ‘TAKUMI’ CRAFTSMANSHIP

In its superbly tranquil and comfortable cabin, the RX will keep you relaxed and

entertained, even on the longest journeys. The sumptuous driver’s seat offers extensive

electric adjustments while, for ease of entry, it also slides back 50 mm and the steering

wheel retracts. Rear seats slide, tilt or fold too. Exquisitely stitched leather seating is

standard, with the finest semi-aniline leather offered as an option. Gentle ambient

lighting illuminates the start button and gearshift, and storage compartments open

and close with the calming motion of a traditional Japanese sliding door. All RX

quality is overseen by ‘Takumi’ master craftspeople, and before delivery every car is

tested for leaks in a high-pressure water chamber that simulates a tropical typhoon.

FORWARD THINKING

REMOTE TOUCH, HEAD-UP DISPLAY, PRE-CRASH SAFETY

With a host of advanced technology in its ‘dual zone’ cockpit, the new RX is an

extraordinarily safe and relaxing car. Head-Up Display lets you keep your eyes on

the road, while Remote Touch and Voice Control offer seamless interaction with

the multimedia display. The Intelligent-Adaptive Front-lighting System helps you to

see round corners, with a Pre-Crash Safety system and Adaptive Cruise Control

available too. The perfect environment in which to enjoy music or videos, the RX can

be ordered with a 15-speaker Mark Levinson® Premium Surround system, offering

exceptional 7.1-channel fidelity and clarity.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

LEXUS HYBRID DRIVE

Comprising a 3.5-litre V6 direct-injection Atkinson Cycle petrol engine and two

high output electric motors, the new RX 450h’s Lexus Hybrid Drive offers maximum

driving pleasure and low environmental impact. Zero to 100 km/h acceleration takes

just 7.8 seconds, thanks to a potent combination of petrol/electric power. Overall,

emissions are just 145 g/km and fuel consumption is only 6.3 l/100 km.

INTELLIGENT LED HEADLIGHTS

To help you see around corners, an Intelligent-

Adaptive Front-lighting System automatically swivels

the headlights into approaching bends. Low-beam

LED (Light Emitting Diode) headlights offer extremely

focused light on the RX 450h, use less energy and last

longer than conventional bulbs.

EV AND ECO MODE

EV (Electric Vehicle) mode lets you drive at lower

speeds over shorter distances using just the car’s two

powerful electric motors, emitting zero emissions

and consuming no fuel. ECO mode retunes the

throttle control and air conditioning, thus lowering the

RX 450h’s carbon footprint.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY

Key vehicle data, such as current speed or navigation

directions, are projected directly onto the windscreen

within your field of vision. This lets you check important

data without looking away from the road ahead.

HARD DISK DRIVE (HDD) NAVIGATION

An optional, highly intuitive 40 GB HDD navigation

system features a high-resolution 8-inch display with

extraordinarily clear and easy-to-read graphics. Using

Remote Touch or voice control you can navigate by

address, stored destination or points of interest.

REMOTE TOUCH

Next generation Remote Touch, with single press

confirmation, lets you interact intuitively with the central

multimedia display. Ergonomically designed, it is close

at hand and as easy to use as a computer mouse.

DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION

A sophisticated double wishbone rear suspension delivers outstanding road holding,

performance sedan-like cornering characteristics and superb straight-line stability.

Due to its compact design, the suspension encroaches far less into the rear luggage

compartment.

PRE-CRASH SAFETY (PCS)

A millimetre-wave radar sensor detects objects in front of the RX. If it senses a

high-risk situation, it warns you then activates Pre-Crash Brake Assist. If a collision

is then deemed unavoidable, Pre-Crash Brake and Pre-Crash Seatbelts are also

activated for your protection.

15-SPEAKER MARK LEVINSON®

Key to the superlative performance of this top-of-

the-range system are no fewer than 15 loudspeakers,

each custom-engineered for the particular acoustic

characteristics of, and location within, the cabin. It

provides perfect 7.1-channel surround sound for your

favourite CD, DVD or music on your iPhone® or iPod®.

F SPORT DESIGN The new RX 450h and RX 350 can both be specified as dynamic F SPORT

versions. Wherever you venture, with their exclusive spindle grilles and mesh inserts,

the F SPORT models make a bold and eye-catching design statement. A deeper,

lower front bumper features both integral spoiler and exclusive F SPORT fog lights.

Beautiful black/grey leather upholstery,

black roof lining and metallic finished

dashboard trim have been developed

especially for the RX F SPORT. For a

tactile, sporty feel, both the gearshift and

steering wheel are finished in perforated

leather.
