Principles and Pearls in Pancreatology 2013
DESCRIPTIONThis course is designed to be of interest to practicing gastroenterologists, therapeutic endoscopists and other health care providers interested in diseases of the pancreas. The goal is to discuss issues in the diagnosis and management of pancreatic diseases with emphasis on appropriate use of various diagnostic and treatment modalities.
LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:•Discuss the art of clinical decision making in pancreatic disease.•Review the basics of pancreas imaging (CT and MRI) and its role in diseases.•Review pancreatic pathology and how it correlates with clinical presentation.• Identify the appropriate use of endoscopic and non-endoscopic approaches to diagnosis and

DESCRIPTIONThis course is designed to provide endosonographers, gastroenterologists, and other health care providers at all levels of experience a comprehensive multidisciplinary review of endoscopic ultrasound. The course includes the opportunity for either an ‘In-The-Room’ or ‘Hands-On’ animal lab experience.
LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:• Establish the T, N, and M stage for luminal tumors and pancreatic cancer.• Differentiate the various types of cystic pancreatic tumors.• Identify the utility of EUS for evaluating patients with chronic pancreatitis.• Differentiate the various subepithelial mass lesions.• Recognize the technical aspects and role of interventional EUS procedures.• Demonstrate proper technique for EUS guided biopsy (cytology & histology).

Those who hope to learn this procedure will also benefit, as many physicians who do not perform EUS rely on this technique as a part of patient care. Principles and Pearls in Pancreatology Course – All health care providers who care for patients with both benign and malignant pancreatic disease. The content complements that of the EUS course.
