Parents need support, guidance and resources to raise healthy, happy children. That’s where Children’s Bureau comes in. For 115 years, Children’s Bureau has changed the trajectory of children’s lives by building strong families and communities through innovative work in the areas of prevention, treatment and advocacy.
Our Blue Tie Gala is a celebration of children and the importance of family and community to their future success. This inspired evening will feature a formal multi-course dinner prepared by acclaimed chefs and paired with world-class wines, an auction like no other, entertainment, dancing and more. For those interested in a little pre-dinner fun, there will be an exclusive VIP reception serving up vintage champagne,
passed canapés, and mingling with the evening’s honoree and special guests.

Russ Bendel has been the Chief Executive Officer of Habit Burger Restaurants based in Irvine, California, since 2008. His tenure at The Habit has been preceded by an impressive career in hospitality leadership—over the last three decades, Russ has served in C-Suite positions at several popular restaurants, including The Cheesecake Factory, Mimi’s Café and Roy’s Restaurants. As an award-winning trailblazer in his industry, Russ was recognized as the 2004 Restaurateur of the Year in Orange County and received the 2012 Elizabeth Burns Lifetime Achievement Award. Russ is also a Director Emeritus for the California Restaurant Association. As a valued supporter of Children’s Bureau since 2014, Russ contributes big-heartedly to our various fundraising efforts and has also donated The Habit Burger truck as an auction item for our Celebrity Chefs and Wine Tasting, Summer Soirée and Blue Tie Gala events. His hospitality and generosity have been immensely helpful in providing essential programs and services to the 40,000 at-risk children and parents our agency serves annually.
