Global Heart VisionWe envision the emergence of the Global Heart to balance and guide our evolution as stewards of our planet and all its inhabitants. We see a world free of homelessness, violence, war, hunger, separation and disenfranchisement. We see a world in which there is generous and continuous sharing of heart and resources... a world in which forgiveness, whether for errors, injustices, or debts, is the norm... a world in which borders are irrelevant... a world which has renewed its emphasis on beauty, nature and love through a resur- gence of creativity, art, and aesthetics ... a world in which fellowship prospers and connects through the guidance of spiritual wisdom and experience ... a world in which we live and grow as One Global Family that respects and honors the interconnectedness of all life.We envision Center for Spiritual Living as a bridge across the illness and illusion of separation thereby dynamically empowering the vision of Global Heart. The spiritual community of Center for Spiritual Living is united and actuated by this compelling vision of a healthy world — a world experiencing Global Heart — and is ardently committed to bringing this vision forth through its ministries and its transformative teaching.Center for Spiritual Living is a community of inspired individu- als caring for and about each other and the entire planetary family, thereby bringing the gift of active compassion and kindness to the world and causing us to become a point of inspiration and influence to benefit all expressions of Life.

What Are We?We are a philosophy, faith and way of life.

We believe that all paths lead to God.

We embrace everyone, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orienta-tion, socio-economic class, disability, size or any other apparent condition of the human experience.

We utilize the wisdom of the medical profession when needed (we go to doctors and take aspirin, for example) as opposed to avoiding doctors and/or medicine.

We have been in existence since the 1920’s.

We have three primary beliefs:• There is only one God (Source), common to all, in and through all

things. God is a loving, creative Energy and Presence.• God’s (Source’s) nature is Love and your nature is Love, too.• Life operates according to your belief. Law of cause and effect.

“It is done unto you as you believe.”

We investigate these beliefs by encouraging consistent use of 5 points of a balanced spiritual practice that includes:

1. Prayer (Proactive communion). We advocate at least two different ways to pray:

One is called “Spiritual Mind Treatment” or “affirmative prayer” and is used with a specific evolution of consciousness in mind. It has five sequential steps: a). Recognition – God is all there is. b). Unification – I am one with God. c). Realization – An affirmation that whatever I desire, I already have. d). Thanksgiving – Grati-tude for knowing the Truth of who I am and what I’ve affirmed in my prayer. e). Release – Confidently letting go of the treatment, knowing it’s done.

The other is “Personal Devotional Prayer”. Adoration. Praise-giving. It’s a prayer of thanksgiving that comes from a heart that loves creation and the Creator. It’s evident in the writings and poetry of Rumi as well as in the Bhagavad-Gita (where Prince Arjuna convinces Lord Krishna to show Himself as his cosmic version of God). Our founder Ernest Holmes was given to this form of prayer. In the back of the Science of Mind text, behind meditations for self-help, are poems filled with delight and devotion, as well as in Holmes’ epic poem, “Voice Celestial”.

2. Meditation/Visioning (Receptive communion. Helps us stay receptive to knowing more).

3. Selfless Service (Volunteering. Reminds us that we can never be apart from God).

4. Spiritual Study (Education. Keeps us “teachable” rather than a “know-it-all”).

5. Financial Circulation (Giving, tithing. Keeps us from congestion and stagnation).
