Calving Ease - The ease with which a bull’s calves are born to first calf heifers. A first calf heifer is defined as a female calving for the first time at 33 monthsof age or less. EPDs are reported as the standardized rank of the animal in the Canadian Simmental population. When comparing calving ease EPDs of twosires, the larger EPD indicates a higher percent of unassisted births for calves sired by this bull.
Birth Weight - Calf weight at birth adjusted to a mature dam equivalent. Expected progeny peformance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts thedifference in average birth weight of a bull’s calves, compared to calves of all other bulls evaluated. When comparing the birth weight EPDs of two sires, thelarger EPD indicates a heavier average birth weight for calves sired by this bull.
Weaning Weight - Calf weight taken between 160 and 250 days of age and adjusted to 205 days of age and a mature dam equivalent. Expected progenyperformance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts the difference in average 205 day weight of an animal’s calves compared to calves of all otheranimals evaluated. When comparing the weaning weight EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a heavier average weaning weight for calves sired by thisbull.
Yearling Weight - Weight taken between 330 and 440 days of age and adjusted to 365 days of age and a mature dam equivalent. Expected progenyperformance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts the difference in average 365 day weight of an animal’s progeny, compared to the progeny of allother animals evaluated. When comparing the yearling weight EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a heavier average yearling weight for calves siredby this bull.
Maternal Calving Ease - The ease with which a sire’s daughters calve as first calf heifers. A first calf heifer is defined as a female calving for the first time at33 months of age or less. Expected progeny differences are reported as the standardized rank of the animal in the Canadian Simmental population. Whencomparing the maternal calving ease EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a higher percentage of unassisted births for calves born to this sire’s daughters.
Maternal Weaning Weight - The weaning weight of an animal’s daughters’ calves. Expected progeny performance is reported in pounds. The EPD valuepredicts the difference in average 205 day weight of an animal’s daughters’ calves compared to calves from daughters of all other animals evaluated. Theevaluation reflects both the maternal ability of an animal’s daughters and the growth potential of their calves. When comparing maternal weaning weight EPDsof two sires, the larger maternal weaning weight EPD indicates heavier weights due to daughters’ ability to produce heavier calves.

100% Customer Satisfaction GuaranteeAffordable Bulls - Over the past 5 years the majority of the bulls have sold between $1,800 and $3000.
The Bull Sale Group reserved the right to obtain semen on all bulls for on farm use
at the buyer’s convenience and the seller’s expense.
Welcome to the 11th Annual Butts Gutts & Nuts Bull Sale. On behalf of Blushrose, Core Cattle, Kulyk, and North Creek, we would like to thank
you for attending the sale at Heartland Livestock in LLoydminister. Huge thanks to all of our buyers from previous sales and we look forward to
working with new customers in the future. The sky is the limit in the cattle industry right now; all of our consignors are in it for the long run.
We have a variety of bulls which will fit the needs of any cattlemen, whether they be Traditional, or Red and Black, Horned or Polled. The bulls in
this offering are the result of heavy culling practices from each herd; buy with confidence knowing that we have brought our very best. These bulls
are a solid set that are thick, soggy, and heavy haired. With the commercial cattlemen in mind, we breed our cattle to be able to withstand the
elements and be easy doing cattle.
All of the bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale and will be fully guaranteed to go out and work. If by any chance there is a deferred bull in the
sale, it just means he didn’t cooperate during their first attempt. Any bulls that are deferred will be announced on sale day. We ask if you purchase
a bull that’s deferred to let us take him home and test him before being delivered. Insurance will be available through Larry Toner, Stockmans
Insurance. We ask that bulls returning back to the farm after sale be insured.
Feel free to contact any one of us, or our professional sales staff Danny Skeels, Jim Pulyk, Ryan Noble or Bohrson Marketing Services for any
assistance and we will go over the offering with you, we will find the bull that best suits your herd and needs. Stop by the farms before the sale to
view the cattle in their home environment. The cattle will be moved into Heartland Livestock the Saturday before the sale. Don’t be afraid to
introduce yourself, we love meeting new people. We look forward to seeing you sale day.

This bull was supposed to be sold in last year’s sale, but due to a mistake on my part he didnot enter the sale ring. Bad for me, but fantastic for anyone looking for a rock solid 2 year old. This bull looks exactly like his sire who walked our pastures for five years. We used him forclean up on 40 cows and should have some calves by sale day. No guesswork here.

With the large amount of “Pol Rocket” heifers we had in our replacement pen a few years ago, wedidn’t know what we were going to breed them to. When we found the “ambush” bull at Anchor DRanch, we knew that he would have a huge potential if we allowed him to be put with the “Pol Rocket”daughters. What we didn’t know was that this combination would work out this well for us. “Ambushed”comes from one of the top cow families in our herd going back to the “holly” cow who has definitely outproduced herself over the years. Take a serious look at this bull calf, he has plenty of style and docility.

TERMS & CONDITIONSTERMS - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale.
The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. The sellers reserve the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing
any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, the seller reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly
or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements
must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.
BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions.
No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.
DISPUTES - In cases of dispute, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the
auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.
PURCHASER’S RISk - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length
of time.
ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any
such announcements.
CERTIfICATE Of REGISTRY - The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each
animal after settlement has been made.
BREEDERS GUARANTEE, BUllS - Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders,
the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will then have the
right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will be suitable for artificial
insemination.
BREEDERS GUARANTEE GUIDElINES
pArTieS of GuArAnTee -All guarantees are between the buyer and the seller.
role of The ASSociATion - The Canadian Simmental Association shall not be responsible for any guarantees given by a seller of Simmental cattle.
Bull BreedinG GuidelineS - All bulls offered for sale as breeding bulls, except calves at side, must be guaranteed breeders.
At the time of sale all bulls must attain or exceed the minimum scrotal circumference measurements for their respective age as outlined here: 12 months -
32 cm, 14 months - 34 cm, 15-20 months - 35 cm, 21-30 months - 36 cm. All bulls sold after weaning and prior to 12 months of age must meet the minimum
scrotal measurement of 32 cm when they reach 12 months of age.
Should any bull fifteen months of age or over fail to prove a natural breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders and free of any venereal
disease, the buyer shall report in writing to the seller and provide a report of a complete examination by a qualified veterinarian. This notification shall be
provided to the seller no later than four (4) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fifteen (15) months of age,
whichever is later. The buyer shall return the bull to the seller at the buyer’s expense. The seller shall have the opportunity to have the bull examined by a
veterinarian of his choice. In the instance of a fertility re-test by the seller, the bull must weigh the same or more than his posted adjusted 365-day weight.
If the bull falls short of this weight then he must be reconditioned to meet the weight and then be re-tested. The seller will then have 45 days to prove this
bull a breeder. If this bull proves to be a satisfactory breeder the bull shall be returned to the buyer.
In the event the seller fails to prove the bull a satisfactory breeder, the buyer has the option to either accept a replacement F.O.B. the seller’s ranch or a
credit of the actual purchase price. No incidental expenses such as feed, veterinary charges, interest, etc. will be charged by either party. In no event shall
the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price.
EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall
be null and void.
SETTlEMENT - Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as fee, A.I., signing fees,
interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlements. If the seller is successful in proving the animal in question to be
a breeder, then said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is
guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a refund of the actual purchase price paid FOB selling point. In no event shall
the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of a replacement animal, the sellers will appoint a mediator.
ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sellers, auctioneer, or Association assumes any
responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident of loss of property.
RIGHTS AND OBlIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding
to both. Resale of animals following purchase shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of these two parties connected thereto
are not covered by the terms and conditions of the sale.
ARBITRATION - In the event of a dispute, the purchaser and seller may ask the Canadian Simmental Association to arbitrate the matter. The Arbitration Board
shall be conducted under the rules of arbitration wherein the purchaser and seller will each appoint one person to the Board and the Canadian Simmental
Association will appoint a Chairman. Each party will have one vote, and the decision of the majority of the Board being binding on both the seller and the
purchaser. Expenses of the arbitration will be at the sole discretion of the Chairman. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the
purchase price of the animal.
THE AUCTIONEER shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance
prior to the sale with the sellers.
