Huskies Hard To Beat At HomeOver the last several years, the Huskies have provento be nearly impossible to beat at home. UW had wona school record 32-straight non-conference gamesin the friendly connes of Alaska Airlines Arena atHec Edmundson Pavilion before falling to South Da-kota State on Dec. 18. The Dawgs last lost at homeagainst a non-Pac-12 opponent on March 14, 2008vs. Valparaiso. Since a Dec. 3, 2004 loss at home vs.Gonzaga, UW is 60-3 vs. out-of-conference opponentsat home (the other loss came vs. No. 12 Pittsburgh onDec. 8, 2007).

NDiayeinjured his knee during the Duke game on Dec. 10.NDiaye landed awkwardly early in the second halfand tweaked his right knee. He missed two gamesresting the knee. On Dec. 9, it was announced thatScott Suggs will redshirt the season. Suggs missedthe rst 7 games while recovering from right foot sur-

gery and decided to sit out the remainder of the sea-son so he could play a full senior season. Suggs hasreturned to practice and is reporting no residual painfrom the surgery.

Stuck In Neutral? After the NYC trip, UW is 5-9 in regular season neutralsite games (1-9 in the last 10) duringLorenzo Romars 10-year tenure at the school. But, when it counts duringthe post-season, the Huskies are stellar on neutral sitecourts. The Huskies are 13-5 under Romar at the Pac-10Tournament and have won three conference champion-ships. UW is 8-6 on neutral sites for the NCAA tourna-ment and have made three Sweet 16 appearances.

Cleaning Up The GlassThrough Mondays action, the Huskies ranked 17th na-tionally averaging 40.7 rebounds per game. They grab1.8 more rebounds per game than the next closest Pac-

Tribute To Andrew MoritzThe Huskies played in the Jimmy V Classic to honorthe former coach that displayed a ghting spirit againstcancer that serves as an inspiration. Former Husky

Basketball walk onAndrew Moritz embodied thatsame ghting attitude through his own brave battlewith cancer. On Nov. 26, Moritz succumbed to histhree-year ght with a rare sarcoma -- desmoplasticround cell tumor. Moritz, 33, was a walk-on player from1996-99 who played on two NCAA tournament teams. He was diagnosed in 2008 with his disease and onlygiven a few months to live. He spent the past threeyears ghting cancer with the same spirit he showedon the basketball court. Despite scoring just 17 pointsin 78 minutes over 34 games in a 4-year span, Moritzwas a popular teammate and leader of his squads. UWhonored his memory with a patch displaying his initialsduring the Marquette game.

UW Bench: No Experience RequiredThe Huskies starting ve and bench players are starkcontrasts in experience. Entering this season, UWsprojected starters (NDiaye, Gant, Gaddy, Ross andWilcox) had a combined 256 college games under theirbelts. With Scott Suggs (84 career games) out due toinjury, the other nine guys had combined to play 23games -- all by walkon Brendan Sherrer who has onlyplayed in games that the Huskies have won by 17 ormore points. The Huskies have eight players on theirroster that entered this year having never played in acollege game during their careers, unless you countDesmond Simmons appearing in last years exhibitiongame vs. St. Martins before deciding to redshirt the

season. Besides Simmons, Washingtons new facesinclude seven true freshmen: Andrew Andrews, Mar-tin Breunig, Jernard Jarreau, Shawn Kemp Jr., HikeemStewart, Tony Wroten and walk-on Alex Wegner. An-drews and Jarreau will redshirt this season.

Welcome Back Gaddy The game vs. Georgia State wasAbdul Gaddysrstgame since playing at UCLA on Dec. 31, 2010. Gaddyscored 7 points, grabbed a career-high 7 reboundsand dished 6 assists. His play caused Georgia Statescoach Ron Hunter to state: The key to their basket-ball team, is that point guard. (He) controls everything.
