Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Father’s Day We want to do our best to take time to honor and appreciate all Fathers. The world we live in is filled with criticism of all the Lord has called Godly men to do, and be. Rest assured, we will do our best to inspire and honor you as you minister to your family, especially during this difficult time. May the Lord bless all of our Father’s living and deceased. Thank you, Dads!

Stained Glass Window Project St. Charles Borromeo Finance Council agreed during our last quarterly meeting to continue with the Fundraising Project for the Stained-Glass windows for St. Charles Borromeo. We have had several people already come forward with purchasing a window. Thank you. A sampling of the color scheme for the Chapel is pictured on the cover of this week’s bulletin. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your generosity to allow us to complete this project.

RCIA Next weekend we will celebrate two Masses for those in RCIA desiring to be received into full communion in the Catholic Church. 12 Individuals have been preparing since last Fall to receive the Sacraments – and were delayed when we couldn’t celebrate Mass publicly. Our RCIA Team consists of Alma Chavez, Dale and Marlys Hinckley, Susan and Jack LaValla and Me and Michael. Please keep these men and women in your prayers!

ALL Ages Welcome to Mass All ages are welcome inside to Mass at this time. The decision is up to you on whether you will join us inside or stay outside or online. God is good to be able to make these decisions for ourselves! I look forward to seeing you wherever it works!

God Loves You!

Fr. Tim

Financial Stewardship Update: 2019-2020The Lord be with you!

As we have encountered this Global Pandemic called COVID-19 or Coronavirus, I can say without a doubt, “we’ve never done it this way before”!

First, I want to express appreciation for your consistent prayers as our Staff and Parish Trustees navigates these times of challenge both in our personal lives, in addition to the burden we carry for Holy Redeemer and St. Charles Borromeo.

We are in this together, but more than that, God is walking through the fire with all of us, and I believe we will come out the other side in victory! We are grateful to the Lord for the way He has provided for His Church over the years. God is so faithful, and the aspect of giving is one of the most puzzling to the world around us in that when we give, we open ourselves up to the blessings of God in a significant way. If you are unemployed or underemployed at this time, we will pray God will either restore the job you had before these challenging days or assist you in finding a better one! God is still a God of miracles and provision!

As you know, we believe in the importance of tithing off the income we receive. Not only is this how the church becomes stronger, but we believe it’s also how each one of us learns to trust God! While ministry has certainly looked different at this time, we have continued and in some ways have done even more to stay connected during these unprecedented times.

Life will never be without challenges, and this is undoubtedly one of those times we can “prove God,” even when it seems entirely sacrificial.

I would like to encourage you to consider staying faithful in your giving. We have a variety of ways for people to give, whether it is in-pew, drop box, U.S. Mail or online.

Please know that regardless of what your giving ability is at this time, you are loved and appreciated! As you pray for us, we pray for you, and we WILL get through this!

Blessings in the Lord,

Fr. Tim Biren

12th Sunday of Ordinary TimeGloria Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Reading 1, Jer. 20:10-13 Jeremiah said: “I hear the whisperings of many: ‘Terror on every side! Denounce! let us denounce him!’ All those who were my friends are on the watch for any misstep of mine. ‘Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail, and take our vengeance on him.’ But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion. O LORD of hosts, you who test the just, who probe mind and heart, let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause. Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD, for he has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the wicked!”

Reading 2, Rom 5:12-15 Brothers and sisters: Through one man sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all men, inasmuch as all sinned—for up to the time of the law, sin was in the world, though sin is not accounted when there is no law. But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the trespass of Adam, who is the type of the one who was to come. But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one man Jesus Christ overflow for the many.

Psalm, PS 69:8-10, 14, 17, 33-35 R. Lord, in your great love, answer me.

Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen

Prayer of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to possess You within my soul. Since I am unable at this moment to receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as being already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Gospel, MT 10:26-33Jesus said to the Twelve:“Fear no one.Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light;what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;rather, be afraid of the one who can destroyboth soul and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge.Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.Everyone who acknowledges me before othersI will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others,I will deny before my heavenly Father.”

On Friday and Saturday of this past week (June 19th and 20th) the Church celebrated the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I love these feast days and I love seeing images of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. Jesus and Mary expose their hearts to us in a vulnerable way. You may have heard of the expression “he wears his heart on his sleeve,” meaning essentially that the person openly expresses their feelings. Jesus and Mary reveal their hearts to us and express the love, joy, pain and sorrow they experience. The image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, seen with the cross and the crown of thorns, reveals the pain he has undergone for our salvation. The image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is often seen with a sword piercing her heart, revealing to us the pain she suffered in watching her beloved son suffer and die. Mary’s heart is also seen with a crown of flowers, signifying her virginity and purity of heart. Both hearts are seen with a fire bursting forth from their hearts and rays of light shooting out in all directions symbolizing the fire of love they possess for all of us. Both Jesus and Mary are often pointing to their hearts, almost as if to invite us to gaze deeply into them as they each say to us, “This is my heart. You can rest here. It is safe. Do not be troubled.”The hearts of Jesus and Mary are the two exemplar hearts we seek to model our hearts after. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning furnace of charity, have mercy on us.Immaculate Heart of Mary, refuge of sinners, pray for us. In the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary,Michael
