Youth Sunday School Planning Meeting Sunday, August 13 9:45-10:45am New Life in Christ room All former Middle and Senior High Youth Sunday School teachers and anyone interested in helping with Youth Sunday School this coming year are encouraged to attend as we discuss the new curriculum, ideas and set our teaching schedule for 2017-2018.

Maker Fest RALLY DAY September 10, 9:30am Save the date and get excited for this congregation-wide event continuing our theme from VBS. Children will get to visit their Sunday School classroom with their parents and meet their teacher, as well. Children's Sunday School will officially begin on September 17th. Sunday School registration will begin August 13th. Remember, Rally Day is for the whole family; please stay with your children as classes will not be in session and teachers will not be supervising the rooms.

WELCOME, Rev. Dr. Gerald Stone Rev. Dr. Gerald Stone is a retired Elder of the Baltimore/Washington Conference serving for 33 years. A life-long United Methodist, he was born in Carbondale Pennsylvania and has lived in Westminster since 1990 . He attended Wesley Seminary in Washington D.C. receiving both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. His last appointment was Calvary UMC in Gamber. He is also a retired Army Chaplain Colonel having served 32 years, mostly in the Reserves. Additionally, he holds a Post-Doctorate Certificate in Counseling Psychology. He is married to Nancy and they have 3 adult children and 3 grand-children.

Westminster UMC Seeking Worship Leader Purpose: The purpose of the Worship Leader is to foster the growth of the congregation and musicians as disciples of Jesus Christ through the worship and music ministry, particularly at the 11am service.

The Worship Leader position is salaried part-time. Presence is required Sunday mornings before and after the 11am service and other times as required, including Praise Band or worship group rehearsals and some staff meetings. Meets regularly with Lead Pastor for worship planning. Attends Worship Committee and other meetings as needed.

Children's Garden Thank you for the straw donation. The children's garden is nicely mulched now and our sunflowers are quite the conversation piece. Walk by and check them out!

On Monday of this week our youth served the Soup Kitchen lunch to 130 individuals. They made homemade cucumber salad from cucumbers started from seeds by our pre-schoolers and grown in our Children's garden.

Also, as fall nears, we will be collecting daffodil and tulip bulbs for a spring flower bed. Bulb donations may be placed in the flower pot in the Sunday School office.
