POST-EVENT TOUR

Golf outing on Monday 20 April 2020 for a minimum of 20 participants—to be confirmed.

really the good stuff anyway, although they did leave a legacy of really cool his-toric sites! Seriously though, Glendalough monastic site has been a place of learning and spiritual contemplation for centuries. Wander through the ruins, marvel at the beauty of the natural environment and learn about the story of Saint Kevin and his friends.

17 April 2020 Tour 2: Glendalough (9:00–13:00)

Don’t tell Lars Kolind, but the last time the Danes came to Ireland, the Irish built round towers to protect themselves and their valuables from the marauding Vikings. How did it work for them? Well the Vikings stayed, took over the country and got all

Woven through the recent history of Ireland are tales of Irish Scouts, which you’ll get to hear from the young (and now not so young) women and men who have lived through the Northern Irish peace process, the recent Brexit negotia-tions (the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, himself a Scout, will put this into con-text) and changes to the fabric of Irish society (becoming more open and inclusive).

Scouts will welcome you to their Scout halls for dinner one evening so you can see how they do Scouting and talk about their hopes for the future. You’ll also join a TED-talk style event, together with leaders of Irish business, and hear how Scouts in Ireland and beyond in the region have changed their world.

And of course, if you like history, poetry, golf, Guinness, music, Craic (that’s “fun” in the Irish language, not a hard drug) and ancient mon-asteries (there are lots), then book one of the many small and personal tours we have lined up for you.
