Year 4 Trip to the WRWA Recycling Centre

We enjoyed our trip to the recycling centre so much more than we thought we would. It was amazing to see the big cubes of paper and plastic ready to be recycled. The enormous claw going into the rubbish reminded us of Toy Story and it was amazing to get so close to it. We also learned the centre receives 1000 tons of general waste every day: that is 1 000 000 kg ! This made us think more about: REDUCE and REUSE not just RECYCLE. Sitting in a room made up of recycled materials was interesting as well as the worms in the compost bin. We will be sharing more facts about this trip through our Mudlarks project. We are already thinking hard about what we should be doing at school and at home.Albie and Honour

Please would parents ensure their child’s uniform is labelled clearly. The office staff are finding a great deal of their time is spent matching uniform items to pupils.

Love One AnotherIn year 5, we have been learning about the third pillar, Zakat, which states Muslims should give 2.5% of their earnings to charity each year. After class discussions around this, we felt inspired to act on this and live up to our school motto of ‘Love One Another’ so, we want to collect food to donate to the Hammersmith and Fulham food bank. The food will be going to people who are in need of help and are less fortunate so we would appreciate your donations. Please donate any of the following:tinned fruit, biscuits, crisps, jars of sauces, pasta, rice, UHT milk, cartoon juices and anything that has a long shelf life and does not go off quickly.Donations should be handed in by Friday 7th June 2019By Audrey and Max

West end star ‘Edd Campbell Bird’ and the Little Voices team will be running a special four day ‘All Things Disney’ singing, drama and dance camp this May half term.
