He joined UPM in 2006 as Associate Professor in Paediatrics and Clinical Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. He went on to be Head of Clinical Immunology Laboratory Unit, Department of Paediatrics in 2007 and two years later was appointed the Head of Department of Paediatrics. In 2010, he worked at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences of Monash University Malaysia, Sunway Campus as a Clinical Associate Professor in Clinical Immunology and Paediatrics. He has been in private practice since 2011 and primarily based at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Dr Amir is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI). He is a Board Member of the Asia Pacific Association of Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology (APAAACI) and serves on their Editorial Board of AP Allergy. He is also on the Editorial Board for the European Medical Journal (EMJ) Allergy & Immunology. He has been involved in urticaria research when he was working with Dr Clive Grattan, a well-respected expert in chronic urticaria in the UK during his Dermatology higher specialist training. He is the current chairman for the Malaysian Urticaria Expert Group.

Prof Dr Baharudin AbdullahHe is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in Universiti Sains Malaysia. He graduated with MBBS of Medicine and Surgery from Universiti Malaya (1994) and Master of Medicine (MMED) in Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2002). He was an Honorary Visiting Scholar at Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong (2006) and Asian Surgical Association Clinical Fellow (Head and Neck Surgery), University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong (2006). He was a Fellow in Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at University of Graz, Austria (2014) and Senior Fellow, Head and Neck Optical Diagnostics and Intervention Society. Dr Hilmi is currently a Consultant Respiratory and Internal Medicine Physician in Prince Court Medical Centre and an Honorary Medical Lecturer with University Sains Islam Malaysia.

His basic medical undergraduate training was from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Thereafter he crossed the waters to the United Kingdom, working near Glasgow initially, then in the North East of England. Though initially keen on a career in hepatology, he subsequently switched his interest to Respiratory Medicine. Dr Hilmi continued his subspecialty training in the South West Deanery, United Kingdom. Thereafter he was a locum consultant in Glenfield Hospital in Leicester, United Kingdom. On returning to Malaysia, he joined Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia as a Medical Lecturer and did his clinical practice in Hospital Ampang and Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh.

His main interest is in the field of lung cancer, pleural disease and interventional diagnostic procedures.

Prof Dr Hany Mohd AriffinI have been practicing in the field of paediatric haematology-oncology for approximately 20 years and have undergone training at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle as well as at the National University of Singapore. My main research interest is in the biology and treatment of childhood leukemias and I have been the Malaysian lead for the Malaysia-Singapore Childhood Leukemia Studies for the past fifteen years. I established the UM Paediatric Oncology Research Laboratory in 2002 and this lab is funded by both competitive research grants as well as via charitable donations. My other research areas include childhood cancer survivorship, stem cell transplantation and inherited cancers, particularly related to mutations in the tumour suppressor gene, TP53. I am a member of the UMMC Medical Ethics Committee, hospital Clinical Ethics Committee as well as the paediatric oncology accreditation committee for the National Specialist Register. Currently, I am the president of the Malaysian Society of Paediatric Haematology-Oncology.

Dr Intan Juliana Abdul HamidShe is a Medical Lecturer DU56 in Institut Perubatan dan Pergigian Termaju, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with her medical degree in 2001 and obtained Masters of Medicine in Paediatric from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2011. She furthered her studies in UK, and obtained a PhD in Immunobiology from Newcastle University, UK in 2017. Her PhD research focused on the long term outcome of Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in Newcastle, UK. She also had completed a year of International Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Host Defence Unit, Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust, UK; where she was exposed to the management and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases. She returned home to Malaysia in September 2017 and has started Paediatric Immunology service in Institut Perubatan dan Pergigian Termaju, USM. Her current research focuses on exploring the diagnosis and disease mechanism of primary immunodeficiency diseases in Malaysia. One of her long term dream is the availability of a hematopoietic stem cell transplantation unit which serves for PID patients in Malaysia.

Dr Kent Woo Chee KeenDr Kent Woo graduated from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia and obtained his Internal Medicine residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School where he was nominated by his peers to serve as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. He was then appointed as Assistant Professor of Medicine in charge of the academic hospitalist program at Norfolk General Hospital.

Dr Woo received further subspecialty training in the field of Allergy and Immunology at Louisiana State University. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society for excellence in medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Currently Dr Woo is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at Gleneagles Hospital.

Dr Mohamed NajibDr Mohamed Najib is a Paediatric Hemato-Oncologist and Stem Cell Transplant Physician based at Institut Pediatrik, Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He has been involved in paediatric stem cell transplants for the past four years and has just returned from a two year stint at the PaediatricStem Cell Transplant Unit, Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne which is one of the two leading centres for Primary Immunodeficiency transplants (PID) in the UK. He has also previously served as Treasurer of the Malaysian Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (MASPHO) and currently sits on the expert panel for Bone Marrow Transplantation of the National Transplant Registry.

Dr Norzila Mohamed ZainudinDr Norzila Mohamed Zainudin is a Consultant Paediatrician and Padiatric Respiratory Physician currently practicing in the Paediatric Institute of Hospital Kuala Lumpur. She is currently the head of Paediatric Respiratory Service in the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She is also the Deputy Chairman of the CPG on childhood asthma, respiratory tract infection in children. She has special research interest in asthma and sleep disordered breathing.

Dr Nina IrawatiDr Nina Irawati is a Consultant in Allergy - Immunology ENT Department University ofIndonesia - Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta. She is also the Head of Allergy - Immunology working group of the Indonesian Otorhinolayngology Head and Neck Surgery Society.

She is a board member of the Indonesian Society for Allergy - Immunology.

Dr Nina has done several researches focusing on Allergic Rhinitis, Nasal Polyps and Occupational Rhinitis. She had attended several allergy courses and workshops in Singapore, Thailand and Europe. Dr Nina is widely known as an invited speaker and instructor on Allergy - Immunology in Indonesia

Dr Pamela LeeDr Pamela Lee is a paediatric immunologist and transplant physician with special interest in primary immunodeficiencies (PID). She worked as a Clinical Fellow in Immunology and BMT at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and as a Research Fellow at the Molecular Immunology Unit of The Institute of Child Health, University College London in 2010-2012. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree under the supervision of Prof Yu-Lung Lau, and produced a thesis entitled ‘Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders in Southeast Asia: Needs, Priorities and Opportunities’, summarizing the collaborative research efforts of the Asian Primary Immunodeficiency (APID) Network. Currently we have collaborations with over 90 hospitals in Asia, North Africa and South Africa. Over the past decade, the APID Network offered genetic tests for more than 1,800 patients referred for suspected PID, and molecular diagnosis was confirmed in nearly 1,000 patients.

Dr Lee’s research team focuses on inflammasome and type I interferon signaling. Her research interests include inflammasome signaling as host defense mechanisms again Penicillium marneffei, an endemic infection Southeast Asia. Her team also investigates the immunomodulatory properties of mesenchymal stromal cells on the regulation of type I interferon response in plasmacytoid dendritic cells, which is a major signaling pathway contributing to the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Dr Lee has a special interest in medical education and post-graduate training. She designed and implemented a series ‘seasonal’ APSID Schools in Hanoi, Hong Kong, Chongqing and Kuala Lumpur, creating a structure that facilitates collaborative learning for more than 200 paediatricians from over 15 countries/ regions in Asia. Together with a group of enthusiastic transplant physicians in Asia, she is actively involved in implementing the Educational Initiative of the VABMT Consortium, which aim to empower emerging programs to set up and expand their HSCT service with support from centers of excellence, to drive innovations and nurture the next generation of leaders in pediatric HSCT.

Dr Priya Ragunath is a fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians Ireland. She is an Occupational Physician as well as a Public Health Physician. She is currently the Head of the Occupational Health Unit in the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Dr Priya is also the Chairman of the Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (SOEM) under the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) as well as the Vice Secretary of the Society of Occupational Physicians (MSOP). She is also a lecturer and examiner for the Licentiate and Membership Program (LFOM, MFOM) of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, Ireland. Currently, she is the Focal Point for Occupational Health for Malaysia in the ASEAN Cluster 1 group.

Dr Priya is also a committee member of the National Council of Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH) as well as is a committee member of the Industrial Standard Committee of Occupational Safety and Health, SIRIM. She also serves as a committee member of the Social security Organization (SOCSO) Appellate Board.

She has served in Ministry of Health, Malaysia for over 20 years and has been involved in Occupational Health for more than half her service. She has participated in various International and National collaborations with various public and private agencies and is also involved in the development of numerous guidelines pertaining to Occupational Health in the Ministry of Health. Dr Priya has also presented in various International and National conferences and is also a mentor and supervisor of the DrPh students from University Malaya (UM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and University Putra Malaysia (UPM). She is actively involved in training and has also been the Occupational Health Trainer for the Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam.

Dr Rohna RidzwanShe is a dermatologist since 1995 and presently the Vice President of Dermatological Society of Malaysia. She had Dermatology training in Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Scotland Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Sweden Malmo University. Serves as Consultant Dermatologist in Selayang Hospital from 1999 to 2018. Her special interest is Contact Dermatitis. She had increased the awareness of contact dermatitis and occupational dermatoses among frontline doctors and paramedics from 1997 to 2007. Coached trainee dermatologists from 2006 to 2016. Shared contact dermatitis experiences with Asian and Asia Pacific region dermatologists from 2015 till today. She had published 14 papers in peer review journals and contributed a chapter on Special Problems and Perspective from Malaysia, from a book entitled The Principles and Practice of Contact and Occupational Dermatology in the Asia-Pacific Region byWorld Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd, 2001.

Mr SP Palaniappan was educated at the Malacca High School and then the Royal Military College, Sungai Besi, followed by training to receive the MBBS degree from Stanley Medical College, University of Madras, Chennai, India. After working as a medical officer including stints as a flying doctor, and as assistant director of medical services of Sabah in charge of malaria control, went on to train in Otolaryngology at the Charing Cross Hospital, London, UK, culminating in becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and also obtained a diploma in Otolaryngology of the RCS England. Currently is the senior consultant ENT surgeon at Gleneagles Penang, and external examiner in Otolaryngology at the Penang Medical College.

Studied Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India and obtained the medical degree from the University of Mysore, having passed the MBBS examinations with a first class. Subsequently he did his Paediatric training in hospitals, both in Malaysia and the UK including the world renounced Guy’s Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital in London. He passed the membership examinations of both the Royal College of Physicians in UK and Ireland.

He is currently practicing as a Consultant Paediatrician and Allergy Specialist in LohGuanLye Specialist Centre, Penang and set up the Allergy Clinic there in 2002. He specializes in administering Immunotherapy for Rhinosinusitis and is currently doing a research project titled “Effect of Sublingual Immunotherapy on Malaysian Population”. He has performed over 5000 Skin Prick Tests.

He is very active in the field Social service for which he has been honored by His Excellency, the Governor of Penang, with the Dato’ title.

Dr Vincent Tan is currently a Resident Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Head and Neck Surgeon in KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital. His medical career began when he was awarded a scholarship to pursue his undergraduate medical studies in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He continued his studies to postgraduate level, culminating in him obtaining UKM Masters in ENT, Diploma and MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh UK and Postgraduate Certificate in Allergy from Southampton University, UK. He furthered his subspecialty interest in Rhinology and Otolaryngic Allergic by working as a clinical fellow in Singapore General Hospital under a prominent professor in rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery. Following that, as part of his other interest in head and neck cancers, he went on to work as an international fellow in Head and Neck Oncology and Surgery with Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. He had published numerous papers in local and international peer-reviewed journals and has also being called upon to serve as a reviewer in some international journals. He has just launched a handbook on ENT allergy for medical community too. He had been invited on many occasions as a live TV show panelist to discuss about ENT topics too. He had in the past served as Head of Department in Klang General Hospital and an Associate Professor in ENT in UPM before embarking onto full-time private practice. Other than the common core ENT procedures, he has a deep interest in endoscopic nasal surgeries, ENT allergies, thyroid, head and neck surgeries.

Prof Dr Wang De YunProf Wang De Yun is currently Professor and Director of Research, Department ofOtolaryngology at the National University of Singapore. He trained and practiced as an ENT surgeon in China until his appointment as research associate at the ENT department of theFree University of Brussels (AZ-VUB, Belgium) in 1989. He obtained his PhD Degree in Medical Sciences (Free University Brussels, VUB) in 1995 and was appointed Director of Rhinology and Clinical Immunology Research at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, University of Ghent, Belgium from 1996-1997. He started as Research Scientist at the Department of Otolaryngology, National University of Singapore in 1997.

Prof Wang has published over 230 papers in prestigious medical journals and over 30 book chapters, and has been invited to give more than 400 lectures at scientific meetings worldwide. He is the Associate Editor (Allergy, International Archives of Allergy and Immunology, Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management, Current Treatment Options in Allergy, Military Medical Research, and Medical Journal of Chinese People’s Liberation Army) and a member of the editorial boards of more than twenty journals in ENT, allergy and medical sciences. He is a member of expert committees for several international and European guidelines and consensus report in allergic rhinitis and rhinosinusitis, e.g., European White Paper in Allergy, WHO Initiative - Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA 2001 and ARIA 2008), European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps (EPOS, 2007, 2012), International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Rhinosinusitis (2016), and International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Allergic Rhinitis (2018).

Prof Dr Zakiudin MunasirSpAK

Professor Zakiudin Munasir is the professor of the Division of Allergy and Immunology, Department of Child Health in the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia - Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. He completed his medical degree at Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia and residency in paediatrics. Professor Munasir subsequently became a pediatric consultant in allergy and immunology for the Indonesian Pediatric Society.

Professor Munasir is a member of the working group on allergy and immunology for the Indonesian Pediatric Society and also a member of the Indonesian Allergy and Immunology Association. He is a member of the European Pediatric Allergy Rheumatology, the World Allergy Organization, the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and board member of Asia Pacific Association of Pediatric Allergy, Respirology and Immunology (APAPARI) He is also an editor for the Asia Pacific Allergy Journal. He has some National and International publications
