A�er the launch of HGTV’s Home Town, we were approached by overseas companies for furniture line development with national distribution. Growing up in North Carolina, Ben

remembered the small factory towns that had been shuttered and le� empty when manufacturing moved overseas. �inking of the countless, American families who su�ered in the a�ermath,

we knew there had to be a better way to make furniture.

Vaughan-Bassett, the largest manufacturer of wooden residential furniture in the United States,is committed to their hometown of Galax, Virginia, just like we are committed to our hometown

of Laurel, Mississippi. We’ve partnered to create two antique-inspired furniture lines cra�ed by600 American workers. LMC Home and Scotsman American Heirloom are now availablein stores across the United States. If we’re going to be serious about revitalizing small town

America, we have to be serious about making things in America.

SCOTSMAN AMERICANHEIRLOOMBen Napier and his team worked closely with the craftsmen and craftswomen of Vaughan-Bassett to create ageless furniture. This collection highlights the very best of solid, American hardwood design. The turned posts for the bed and chests are modeled after handmade pieces created in Ben’s Mississippi woodshop as seen on HGTV’s Home Town. Ben and Erin use seagrass panels to soften the brawny exterior of the solid maple creating a versatile bedroom complementary to any home. Each suite is completed by antique-inspired, step-back chests that Erin uses throughout her own home.

We have partnered with Vaughan-Bassett because they are the largest manufacturer of

wooden residential furniture in the United States, yet they are still rooted in the small-town

community of Galax, Virginia. It’s no secret that their local cra�smen and the surrounding

Appalachian forests create a rich environment for company growth and success.

For every Appalachian tree that is cut down to build Scotsman American Heirloom

furniture, another tree is planted in its place. Together, we are making a sustainable future

Growing up a preacher’s son, Ben designed the Elder’s Bench as a

nod to the early American church pew. Available as a footboard or

a standalone piece, the Elder’s Bench o�ers practical storage in a

functional and beautiful design. With its depth and two working

drawers, it’s easy to organize Christmas presents, sweaters, heirloom

blankets or those things that matter most to your family.

With French dovetails and mortise and tenon construction,

each Elder’s Bench in the Scotsman American Heirloom line is

made from responsibly harvested American hardwoods.

The Scotsman Collection pays homage to the American craftsmanship that originally built Laurel, Mississippi, and that is currently revitalizing it as America’s hometown. Built on lumber, Laurel residents know the value of solid wood responsibly harvested from America’s forest. Ben and Erin thoughtfully designed this suite with classic lines, an arched headboard and solid wood construction. The turned foot, posts and finials, along with the optional antique railings, ensure that this suite will be treasured and passed down as a family heirloom.
