Coffee With Alankit – Your Morning Companion

Dear Institutional Clients,

August series expired on Lethargic Note – Strong Rollover

indicates rally to continue !!! Trading for the day kicked off on a positive note on Thursday on back of positive global cues. Unlike, the general derivative expiry session, we witnessed lackluster movement throughout the session as Index was moving in the small range of 28 points for entire day. Nifty scaled 18.30 points to close at new all-time high of 7954.35 on the last day of the truncated week, while the BSE Sensex climbed 77.96 points to 26638.11. But the broader markets underperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap falling 0.30 percent. Even Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1340 gainers against 1584 losers. Among BSE sectoral indices, the BSE Capital Goods index rose the most (1.43 per cent), followed by Oil & Gas 1.06 per cent, FMCG 0.74 per cent and Auto 0.25 per cent. On the other hand, Realty, Metal, IT and Healthcare indices capitulated to selling pressure and were down 1.91 per cent, 0.85 per cent, 0.57 per cent and 0.31 per cent, respectively. Stockwise, BPCL, GAIL, Asian Paints, SSLT and Tata Motors were top gainers in Nifty, up by 2.29 per cent, 2 per cent, 1.97 per cent, 1.66 per cent and 1.55 per cent respectively. Whereas, prominent losers in the Nifty include DLF that plunged 2.41 per cent, Jindal Steel 2.23 per cent, Bank of Baroda 1.76 per cent, PNB 1.35 per cent and Cipla 1.14 per cent. On global market front, US and European markets ended with gains of around 0.25 percent each. As suggested by the closing of SGX Nifty (8013) on Friday, we can expect 10-20 points gap up opening in Nifty on Monday. We have observed strong rollovers in Nifty from the August series into September; indicate that market participants continue to remain bullish. We are observing heavy OI build-up in 8000-8200 Call option and 7800-7900 Put option, which indicates Nifty to move in a range of 7850-8080 for a while. GDP data released on Friday were also in favor of the bulls as India's GDP grew at 5.7% in the first quarter of 2014-15, exceeding expectations. This was the fastest pace since the fourth quarter of FY12, while being dramatically up from the 4.6% rise recorded in the preceding quarter. Technically, Key Oscillators RSI, Stochastic and MACD are placed positively and moving well above their respective averages on both daily as well as weekly chart. Going forward, the individual stocks are likely to outperform the market. Immediate resistance for Nifty is placed at 8022 - 8060 levels. On the flipside, 7880 - 7840 would now provide a decent support for the index.

Have a splendid and profitable day with Alankit !

Nifty Short Term Trend

Trading for the day kicked off on a positive note on Thursday on

back of positive global cues. Unlike, the general derivative expiry

session, we witnessed lackluster movement throughout the

session as Index was moving in the small range of 28 points for

entire day.

Technically, Nifty is heading towards the major resistance of

upward slopping trendline which is placed at 8040-8060 levels.

Harmonic pattern named as ‘Bearish AB=CD’ is still intact in daily

chart and will be confirmed below 7850 on closing basis. A close

above 8000 will negate the pattern. Key Oscillators RSI,

Stochastic and MACD are placed positively and moving well

above their respective averages on both daily as well as weekly

chart. We are observing heavy OI build-up in 8000-8200 Call

option and 7800-7900 Put option, which indicates strong

support at 7850 levels and resistance at 8080 levels for Nifty.

Going further, Stock specific movement will be there. Immediate

resistance for Nifty is placed at 8022 - 8080 levels. On the

flipside, 7880 - 7840 would now provide a decent support for

the index.

Stochastic and MACD are placed positively and moving well

above their respective averages on both daily as well as weekly

chart. We are observing heavy OI build-up in 8000-8200 Call

option and 7800-7900 Put option, which indicates strong

support at 7850 levels and resistance at 8080 levels for Nifty.

resistance for Nifty is placed at 8022 - 8080 levels. On the

flipside, 7880 - 7840 would now provide a decent support for

the index.

Technical Picks INDUSIND BANK CASH - BUY CMP: 585.45

WIPRO CASH - BUY CMP: 565.25

The stock prices of INDUSIND BANK had given a bullish breakout in May at around 535 - 545 levels known as 'ROUNDING BOTTOM'. The said breakout was supported with good volumes and positive placement of momentum oscillators like RSI and MACD. The pattern is still active and prices are taking strong support on the breakout levels. Along with it prices have given a 'RECTANGLE CHANNEL' bullish breakout in weekly chart which is a continuation pattern. Also the prices are continuously moving in a 'HIGHER TOP HIGHER BOTTOM' price cycle which indicates strength in the bulls. Recommendation: We recommend positional

traders to go long in INDUSIND BANK CASH

at/above 591 with SL of 577 for TARGETS of

620/635.

620/635.

As seen in the chart, stock prices of WIPRO since last three months are taking strong support on a trend line joining 'HIGHER BOTTOM' and are bouncing back sharply. Currently the prices are trading near the edge of trendline and technically it can be presumed that as long the prices sustains the support zone a strong pull back from the current levels cannot be ruled out. Since last one month the prices were trading in a narrow range of 535 - 560 but on Friday the prices gave a range breakout on the higher side with good increase in volume. The impact of the above pattern can lead prices to an upside of 585 / 610 in near term. Recommendation: Looking on the entire above scenario we recommend positional traders to go long in WIPRO CASH at/above 560 with SL of 547 for TARGETS of 585/610.
