The warranties apply to all owners of the vehicle.COVERED REPAIRSThewarrantiesinthisbookletcoverrepairstofactory-installedDaimlerChrysler parts and equipment (that is, DaimlerChrysler partsorequipmentinstalledbyDaimlerChryslerorbytheSellingDealerbefore the vehicle was delivered to the first owner), if the repairs werenecessarybecauseofadefectinmaterialorworkmanship. Covered repairs will be done without charge, using new or remanu-factured DaimlerChrysler parts (see page 16).TOWING IS COVEREDIfyourvehiclehastobetowedbecauseapartcoveredbywarrantyfailed,towingtothenearestJeepdealershipwillbecoveredbytheRoadside Assistance Program (for details, see page 20). Engine Cylinderblockandallinternalparts;cylinderheadassemblies;timingcase,timingchain,timingbelt,gearsandsprockets;vibrationdamper;oilpump;waterpumpandhousing;intake and exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring gear; coreplugs;valvecovers;oilpan;turbochargerhousingandinternalparts;turbochargerwastegateactuator;supercharger;serpentinebelt tensioner; seals and gaskets for listed components only. An outer body panel is a sheet metal panel which can be seenwhile walking around the vehicle, and which is painted body colour.Thiswarrantyappliesonlytoholescausedbycorrosion.Cosmeticorsurfacecorrosion(resultingfromstonechipsorscratchesinthepaint,forexample)willnotberepairedunderthis warranty.If collision damage is obviously neglected and allowed to worsenuntil a hole develops, this warranty will not cover the repair.COLLISION DAMAGEIfyourvehicleisdamagedinanaccidentandneedssheetmetalrepairorreplacement,besurethebodyshopusesonlygenuineDaimlerChrysler parts and applies anti-corrosion materials to thepartsrepairedorreplaced.YourCorrosionWarrantydoesnotcoverreplacementpartsnotsuppliedbyDaimlerChrysler,oranydamagewhichiscausedbytheuseofnon-DaimlerChryslerreplacement parts.See also What Is Not Covered on page 12.03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 910EMISSION WARRANTIESEMISSION WARRANTIESDaimlerChryslerCanadawarrantsthatyournewvehiclewasdesigned,builtandequippedtoconform,atthetimeofsale,withapplicablefederalandprovincialemissionsstandards,andthatthevehicleis,atthetimeofsale,freefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipwhichwouldcauseittofailtoconformtotheapplicable emission standards within the warranty periods specified.Acovereddefectisonewhichcausesyourvehicletofailtomeetapplicable emission-control regulations.Tokeepyourvehicleoperatingproperlyandinconformancewithemissionregulations,seetheScheduledMaintenanceinstructionsinyourOwnersManualandherein.OnlyDaimlerChryslerpartsshouldbeusedformaintenanceandrepair of your vehicles emission-control systems.Youshouldkeepanyreceiptsformaintenanceserviceandpassthem on to the next owner of your vehicle, in case questions ariseconcerning maintenance. DaimlerChrysler Canada has the right todenywarrantycoverageifyourvehiclehasnotbeenproperlymaintained,orifrepairsareneededbecausepartsotherthanDaimlerChrysler parts were used; however, denial will not be basedon the lack of maintenance records alone.Warrantyservicemustbeperformedbyanauthorized Jeepdealer. Ifemergencywarrantyserviceisrequiredandanauthorizeddealerisnotavailable,contactDaimlerChryslerCanadaCustomerAssistance (page 18) and request emission warranty service help.03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1011EMISSION DEFECT WARRANTY / EMISSION PERFORMANCE WARRANTYEMISSION DEFECT WARRANTYThe3/60basicwarrantycoversallemission-control componentsfor3yearsor60,000kilometres,whicheveroccursfirst.TheEmissionDefectWarrantyprovideslongercoverage for specified components.TheDefectWarrantycoversthefollowingmajoremission-controlparts,ifsoequipped,for8yearsor130,000 kilometres,whichever occurs first: catalytic converter powertrain control module.EMISSION PERFORMANCE WARRANTYThe Emission Performance Warranty only applies to cars and truckswith a GVW less than 3855 kg (8,500 lb.). For2yearsor40,000kilometres,whicheveroccursfirst,thePerformance Warranty will cover the cost of repairing or adjustingany components or parts of your vehicle that might be necessary topassanapprovedprovincialInspection/Maintenance(I/M)programs emissions test, but only if: your vehicle failed an approved provincial I/M emissions test; and yourvehiclewasproperlymaintainedandoperateduntilitfailedthe test; and warrantyserviceisrequiredinorderforyourvehicletopasstheprovincial I/M test.Provincial test fees, if any, are not covered by this warranty.HOW TO GET SERVICE UNDER THIS WARRANTYIfyourvehiclefailsanapprovedI/MemissionstestwithintheEmissionPerformanceWarrantyperiod,takeittoanauthorizedJeepdealer as soon as possible. Give the service representative theprintout that shows your vehicle failed the test. If possible, bring allservicereceipts,maintenancelogsandrecordstoprovethatyourvehicle has been properly maintained. 03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1112WHAT IS NOT COVEREDWHAT IS NOT COVEREDDAMAGE FROM MISUSE OR ACCIDENTThe warranties in this booklet do not cover repairs required due tofire,accidents,abuse,negligence,objectsstrikingyourvehicle,carryingcorrosivematerials(suchaschemicals,acidsandfertilizers),misuse(suchasdrivingovercurbs,overloading,spinningwheels,etc.),racingorparticipatinginaracingevent,improperdisconnectionofcomponents,modifyingtheexhaustsystem,tamperingormakingadjustmentswhichdonotcomplywith DaimlerChrysler specifications. Disconnecting,tamperingwithorchangingthereadingoftheodometer will void your warranties.DAMAGE FROM THE ENVIRONMENTThe warranties in this booklet do not cover fading or deteriorationcausedbyexposuretotheelements,orrepairsrequiredduetoairborne fallout, acid rain, chemicals, tree sap, insects, bird or insectdroppings,salt,sand,gravel,roadhazards,hail,windstorms,lightning, floods or any other event of nature. Roadsalt,carwashes,scuffsandscratches,andeverydayabrasion from sand and dirt can affect the appearance of a vehicleswheels(steel,chromeandaluminum)andotherundercarriageparts. Some surface corrosion with use is normal; it is not a defectand is not covered by any warranty.NORMAL MAINTENANCE AND WEARThewarrantiesinthisbookletdonotcovernormal maintenanceservices,suchasoilandfilterchanges,generallubrication,tirerotation,alignments,enginetune-ups andreplacingsparkplugs,lightbulbsandfuses.RequiredmaintenanceservicesaredescribedindetailinyourOwnersManual and herein. The warranties also do not cover worn wiperblades,clutchdiscs,brakerotors,pads,liningsordrums,windshieldandrearwindow(unlesstheyare defective,see page 7).03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1213WHAT IS NOT COVEREDDAMAGE FROM IMPROPER MAINTENANCEThe warranties in this booklet do not cover repairs required due toimpropermaintenance,lackofmaintenance,useofcontaminatedordirtyfuelsorfailuretousetheproperfuelsandlubricantsrecommended in the Owners Manual and herein.EXTRA EXPENSESThewarrantiesinthisbookletdonotcoverincidentalorcon-sequential damages such as loss of use of your vehicle, loss of time,inconvenience,expenseforfuel,telephone,travel,rentalcar,overnightaccommodation,lossordamagetoyourpersonalproperty, commercial loss, loss of income, etc.NON-DAIMLERCHRYSLER MODIFICATIONSThewarrantiesinthisbookletdonotcoverrepairsrequiredbecauseofnon-DaimlerChryslermodifications,installationofspecial equipment or accessories, or use of special materials, fuelsoradditives.Thisincludesspecialbodies,bodyconversions,fuelsystem conversions, trailer hitches, window tints, sunroofs, theftalarms,etc.Non-DaimlerChryslermodificationsdonot,bythemselves,voidyourwarranty,buttheyarenotcoveredbyyour warranty.NON-DAIMLERCHRYSLER PARTSThewarrantiesinthisbookletdonotcoverparts,equipment,materialsoradditivesnotsuppliedbyDaimlerChryslerornotcertified for use on your vehicle. Performance and racing parts areconsidered to be non-DaimlerChrysler parts.03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1314WHAT IS NOT COVEREDEXPORTED VEHICLESEXCEPTWHERESPECIFICALLYREQUIREDBYLAW,THERE IS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THIS VEHICLEIFITISSOLDINORREGISTEREDINCOUNTRIESOTHER THAN CANADA.Thispolicydoesnotapplytovehiclesthathavereceivedauthorization for export from DaimlerChrysler Canada. Dealersmaynotgiveauthorizationforexport.Youshouldconsultanauthorized dealer to determine this vehicles warranty coverageif you have any questions.ThispolicydoesnotapplytovehiclesregisteredtoCanadiangovernmentofficialsormilitarypersonnelonassignmentoutside of Canada (See also page 15).TOTAL LOSS AND SALVAGE VEHICLESAnyvehiclethatisdeclaredtobeatotallossbyanyinsurancecompany,orisrebuiltafterbeingdeclaredtobeatotalloss,orisotherwisedesignatedassalvage,scrap,rebuiltorwordsofsimilar impact will no longer have any warranty coverage. DaimlerChryslerCanadawilldenywarrantycoveragewithoutnoticeifitlearnsthatavehicleisineligibleforcoverageforanyofthese reasons.RESTRICTED WARRANTYDaimlerChrysler Canada may restrict the warranty on your vehicleifthevehicleisnotproperlymaintained,orifitisabusedorneglectedandtheabuseorneglectinterfereswiththeproperfunctioningofthevehicle.Ifthewarrantyisrestricted,coveragemaybedeniedorsubjecttoapprovalbyDaimlerChryslerCanadabefore repairs are performed.03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1415HOW TO GET SERVICEHOW TO GET SERVICEIN CANADA:Warranty service must be done by an authorized Jeepdealer. If youmove or are travelling in Canada, warranty service may be requestedfrom any authorized DaimlerChrysler dealer, but preferably one whosells the same Jeep brand vehicle as yours.IN THE UNITED STATES (INCLUDING U.S. POSSESSIONS ANDTERRITORIES) AND MEXICO:If you are travelling temporarily in the United States or Mexico, andyourvehicleremainsregisteredinCanada,yourDaimlerChryslerCanadawarrantywillstillapply.Servicemayberequestedatanyauthorized Jeep dealership. IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA:IfyouaretravellingtemporarilyoutsideofNorthAmerica,andyourvehicle remains registered in Canada, you should take your vehicle toan authorized Jeep dealer. If the authorized dealership charges you forrepairs which you feel should be covered under your warranty, pleaseget a detailed receipt for the work done. When your vehicle returns toCanada,contacttheDaimlerChryslerCanadaCustomerAssistanceCentre(page18)forreimbursementconsideration.Reimbursementwill not be considered if the vehicle does not return to Canada.IF YOU MOVE:Ifyoumovetoanothercountry,besuretocontacttheDaimlerChrysler Canada Customer Assistance Centre (page 18) andthe customs department of the destination country before you move.Vehicle importation rules vary considerably from country to country.YoumayberequiredtopresentdocumentationofyourmovetoDaimlerChryslerCanadainordertocontinueyourwarrantycoverage.YoumayalsoberequiredtoobtaindocumentationfromDaimlerChryslerCanadainordertoregisteryourvehicleinyournew country.NOTICE:IfyourvehicleisregisteredoutsideofCanada,andyouhavenotfollowed the procedure set out above, your vehicle will no longer beeligibleforwarrantycoverageofanykind.(VehiclesregisteredtoCanadian government officials or military personnel on assignmentoutside of Canada will continue to be covered by the basic warranty.)03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1516OTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOWOTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOWOPTIONAL SERVICE CONTRACTDaimlerChryslerCanadahasaservicecontract,speciallydesignedformostnewvehicles,tocoverrepaircostsbeyondyourvehicleswarranty.Protectionisavailableforalmosteveryoperatingpartofyour vehicle, and at reasonable cost.DaimlerChryslerCanadastandsfullybehinditsservicecontracts.BesurethatthecontractyoubuyisagenuineDaimlerChrysler servicecontract.Wearenot responsiblefor othercompaniescontracts.Seepage24fordetailsonavailable Service Contracts.APPEARANCE ITEMSDefects or damage to sheet metal, paint, trim and other appearanceitemsarenormallyfoundandcorrectedduringnew-vehicleinspection.Foryourprotection,ifyoufindanysuchdefectordamage, you should tell your Selling Dealer immediately, because iftheproblemworsensduetouseandexposure,repairswillnotbecovered by any warranty.PRODUCTION CHANGESDaimlerChryslerCanadaanditsdealersreservetherighttomakechanges in vehicles built and/or sold at any time without incurringanyobligationstomakethesameorsimilarchangesonvehicleswhich were built and/or sold previously.EXCHANGE PARTSToreducetheamountoftimeyourvehicleisoutofservicedue torepairs,DaimlerChryslermayofferexchangeserviceonsome parts.MoparorAutoparbrandexchangepartsmaybenew,remanufactured,reconditionedorrepaired,butallmeetDaimlerChryslerstandardsandarewarrantedthesameasnewparts.Examplesofpartsthatmaybeservicedbyexchangeincludeengines,transmissions,instrumentclusters,radios,cassettetapeand CD players, speedometers and various electronic modules.03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1617OTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOWRECLAIMED REFRIGERANTTohelpcontrolsuspectedozone-depletingagents,regulationsrequire the capture, purification and reuse of automotive refrigerantgases.Asaresult,anyrepairstothesealedportionofyourairconditioning system, if so equipped, may involve the installation ofpurified reclaimed refrigerant. CASSETTE TAPES AND CDSTherearesomethingsyoushouldknowaboutcassette tapesandnon-commercialCDs.Labelsappliedtotape cassettes and home-recorded CDs may curl, buckle or peel off. Thiscanresultinejectionfailure,andrepairsrequiredtoremoveastuckCDorcassettearenotcoveredbywarranty.Inaddition,some home-recorded CDs of the CD-R and CD-RW formats may notbe compatible with automotive CD players and may skip or produceerrormessages.Ifyouencounterthis,checkyourCDplayerbyusingacommercialCDwhichisknowntobeplayable.IfaCDisnotcompatiblewiththeplayer,replacingorservicingtheplayerwill not solve the problem.03JEEP Maint Booklet1/15/039:51 AMPage 1718CUSTOMER ASSISTANCECUSTOMER ASSISTANCEWe want you to be completely satisfied with your DaimlerChryslervehicle.
