地上観測ができない熱帯・高地・海上
マイクロ波:可視光や赤外線の計測機器によって観測したのでは、雲の下に隠されてしまっている雨滴が、直接観測できる。

結論Convective rain: similar SH-dependency for all cases.Algorithm of rain estimates has basical physical problems
Stratiform rain: SH-dependency (different for each case).
TMI underestimates RR of shallow rain over land
←detection limit of TMI algorithm based on ice scattering
TMI overestimates RR of deep rain over all cases.←because of no dependence of TMI profile on altitude,
evaporation under the anvil or tilting system is not detected.
Maximum rainfall time Only over land, TMI is 3 hours later than PR due to TMI weakness for detection of shallow convective rain in early phase & TMI overestimation of rainfall rate for deep stratiform rain in mature phase.
