Message from the President and CEO
In 2007 Pelican delivered on our promise to introduce more products, open new markets, increase our manufacturing capacity and expand our sales branches.
In the last year we’ve grown our Sales and Marketing teams around the world, installed one of the largest injection molding presses on the west coast and began manufacturing in Europe to increase worldwide capacity, reduce shipping costs and shorten the supply chain for our European customers.
We also introduced new technologies such as the 7060 tactical light and robot-assisted manufacturing, a first in the Protector™ Case industry. These breakthroughs are the direct result of a new emphasis in research and development to innovate and add value to our products.
In 2008 we will continue to drive investments that will build on Pelican’s trusted reputation: • Even more new products and technologies • Higher levels of Sales and Marketing support • Increased manufacturing and distribution capacity on a global scale We are listening to our customers and thank you for contributing to our growth over the last 30 years. We look forward to working with our established partners and building new relationships throughout 2008.

Only those with integrity answer the tough call of duty to serve the public. When the Los Angeles Police Department put out the call for change in the status quo, it was Pelican that stepped forward. Through strong leadership and tireless pursuit, Pelican R&D collaborated with the LAPD to design the ultimate duty/tactical flashlight – the Pelican 7060 LED.

Switch from patrol mode to tactical mode in seconds.
“Best flashlight I ever used. It fell onto a busy roadway during a foot chase in freezing rain and was out there for over an hour in traffic and slush. It was found and suffered no problems. It worked just fine! The dual switches and better grip make it way better than my current light and is much brighter.”— A. Kennedy • Michigan Patrol Officer 14 years of service
In a rare collaboration between public and private sectors, the City of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has partnered with Pelican Products to develop the Pelican 7060 LED as the standard issue tactical/patrol flashlight for all its officers.
The Pelican 7060 LED light employs new dual switch technology that allows the light to be activated by either a body-mounted patrol switch or a tail-mounted tactical switch. The dual switches, which include a momentary mode, allows the user to grip the light in several positions and still control activation. The light incorporates rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries for maximum brightness and are also light weight compared to standard batteries.

The 9450 Remote Area Lighting System (RALS) combines our tough 1510 Case with 16 x 1 watt LEDs mounted in an aluminum heat sink. All items are stored inside the case and assemble in minutes. The aluminum pole extends to a height of 83" to provide 1280 lumens of light for any area. The rechargeable battery has 9 hours of life at maximum output tailing off to low light level at hour 17. The diffuser (included) can be mounted to change the beam from a focused spot to a diffused beam.

PANEL FRAME MOUNTING SYSTEMPelican offers an easy solution for installing interface panels to any Pelican Protector™ Case. Our mounting bracket installs beneath your panel and fits against stops molded inside the case walls. With pre-drilled holes and stainless steel screws, fabricating a custom case is faster, stronger, and more accurate.
EXTRA PROTECTION Pelican’s Pick ‘N’ Pluck™ foam
and versatile padded divider sets are available for cushion and extra protection. For a better fit, our engineers will map the layout of your equipment for custom foam inserts. Just send a CAD drawing of the part and we’ll die cut the foam insert and install it in a matching case.
EASY ROLLERStainless steel ball bearing wheels (on select cases) last longer and ride smoother. The nylon hub adjacent to the stainless steel is made to resist heat. Result: less wear and tear on the polyurethane wheel.STAINLESS STEELBALL BEARING WHEELS

THE PELICAN PROTECTOR™ CASESTRONGER BY DESIGNPelican Protector™ Cases are made with Copolymer Polypropylene, using an open cell core and solid wall construction, which is actually stronger and lighter than the solid core wall that our competitors produce. Travel light with heavy protection. And you know it’s a Pelican™ Case by the distinctive “twin-ribbed” top
surface. Stainless steel pins are used for hinges and handles. The Double-Throw latches are smarter and easier to open: it’s the classic “C” clamp design with a secondary movement that works like a pry bar to start the release and offers plenty of leverage to open with a light pull.
WATERTIGHTThe secret is the tongue-and-groove fit with a Polymer
o-ring acting as a waterproof seal. Also, the new Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve releases built-up air pressure
while keeping water molecules out, resulting in a watertight case that is even easier to open.
CUSTOM LOGOSYour logo can be applied in multiple colors as a decal or hot stamp, using strict PMS print controls on any Pelican™ Case. You’ll approve a paper proof or first article prior to the run and, like everything we manufacture, our imprinting is 100% guaranteed.
ADDED SECURITYStainless steel reinforced padlock protectors provide added
strength and extra security against cutting and theft.

The Pelican Story
Pelican Products came into existence as a direct result of founder Dave Parker’s desire to develop unique and practical products for the dive market. An avid diver since age 11 (after reading a June, 1954 issue of Popular Sci-ence magazine, which outlined how to build a crude S.C.U.B.A. device using a garden hose, a paint compressor, a power lawn mower engine and an enema bag), Dave has dived some of the most exotic spots in the world.
Through his experience he discovered that certain things he needed to make a dive complete were simply not available. It dawned on him that “if I need something like this, I’ll bet all the other divers do, too!”It was from his old dirt floor garage that Pelican Products was born, in the great American tradition on a shoe string budget. The Pelican Float was its first product and patent.
After a day’s work at his advertising and industrial design business, Dave and his wife and co-founder, Arline, a flight attendant for TWA, would spend evenings in their garage building floats. Dave handled the assembly side of the business. Arline boxed, billed and mailed everything out between her regularly scheduled flights. Dave’s homemade float was sold through mail order ads placed in magazines. It was soon apparent that Pelican Products was not going to stay a garage operation for very long.
From the birth of the Float, Pelican has developed into a multi-product, multi-industry company with a complete line of submersible and waterproof safety approved flashlights and equipment Protector™ cases. From a backyard part time mail order operation, Pelican has become a thriving ISO 9001:2000 certified, self-contained, fully operational molding, manufacturing and design corporation with over 500 employees worldwide. In addition to the Torrance main office and manufacturing facility, we have offices in Spain, Australia, Japan, China and Canada and starting this year, Pelican has manufacturing facilities in Europe.
It is true that Pelican and its product lines have grown a great deal over the past several years. Many things will continue to grow and change except this: Pelican’s Commitment to Excellence and of course, our Legendary “You break it, we replace it forever™” Guarantee.
