WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT AN EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANINSTALL THIS BAZZAZ PRODUCT

1. Begin the installation by removing the following components: seat, fuel tank covers and fuel tank.

2. Mount the control unit on top of the factory ECU using a supplied cable tie. Connect the Bazzaz fuel harness main connector to the control unit and begin to route the harness down the right side of the en-gine.

3. Locate the factory crank position connectors (CKPS) which can be found at the rear right hand corner of the airbox. Disconnect the fac-tory connectors and connect the mating Bazzaz harness CKPS connectors inline.

4. Route the lead of the Bazzaz harness labeled “Cylinder 1 Front” toward the front of the engine, inside the right frame, to the front cylinder fuel injector connection. Remove the factory harness connector from the injector and connect the mating Bazzaz harness connectors inline.

5. Identify the lead of the Bazzaz harness containing the neutral & speed sensor connectors. Route this portion of the harness inside the frame, over the clutch cover and along the routing path of the factory harness toward the rear of the engine.

Note: Make sure to secure wires away from exhaust when installation is complete.

6. Locate the factory harness neutral wire lead (single black wire found at the rear of the engine) and crimp one of the supplied scotchlok connectors onto it. Insert the Bazzaz neutral connector (red connec-tor with white / blue wire) into the scotchlok.

7. Locate the factory speed sensor right next to the neutral wire; disconnect the factory connectors and plug the Bazzaz speed connectors inline with the factory harness.

8. Route the Bazzaz power connector (Orange Label) along with the factory harness towards the rear of the motorcycle. Locate the yellow wire coming out of the small eight pin connector on the right side of the tool tray. Crimp one of the supplied scotch lok connectors onto this yellow wire and insert the Bazzaz power connector (red connector with red wire) into the scotchlok.

9. Route the lead of the Bazzaz harness containing the TPS connector, rear cylinder injector connector and ground lug between the cylinders onto the left side of the bike.

10. Identify the factory harness rear cylinder injector connector and remove the factory harness connec-tor from the injector. Then connect the mating Bazzaz harness con-nectors inline as previously performed for the front cylinder injector connection in step 4.

11. Locate the throttle position sensor (TPS) which is attached to the left side throttle body. Disconnect the factory harness connector and identify the orange wire. Crimp a supplied scotch lok connector onto this factory orange wire. Insert the Bazzaz TPS connector (red connec-tor with blue wire) into the scotchlok. Re-connect the factory harness connector to the TPS sensor.

12. Attach the Bazzaz harness to a suitable chassis ground.

13. The Monster is equipped with two lambda/O2 sensors. These sensors must be bypassed through the use of O2 eliminators supplied with the kit. Disconnect the factory harness connector from each sensor. Install the Bazzaz O2 eliminators in place of the factory sensor connectors and attach the O2 eliminator ground lugs to chassis ground. Be sure to secure the eliminator and factory sensor lead away from any hot or moving components which could cause damage to the components.

14. To complete the installation, use the supplied cable ties to secure the Bazzaz and factory harness neatly along its routing path free of any moving or hot components (which could cause damage or failure of the system). If any problem is found, please carefully follow through the installation steps again. If problem still persists, please call Bazzaz tech support department at (909) 597-8300. After it is deter-mined that everything is correct reinstall the components removed in step one and the installation will be complete.

The Bazzaz control unit is capable of storing two maps. These maps can be selected by connecting or disconnecting the map select jumper on the fuel harness (or you can switch maps on the fly with the handle bar mounted map select switch, sold separately). When the map select jumper is connected, the control unit is operating using map 1. When the map select jumper is disconnected, the control unit is operating using map 2.

Note: Upon installing the system, verify you have selected the proper map to correspond with your model. The controller supplied with this kit has been pre-programmed with two enhanced fuel maps. Map 1 is intended for use on the 09-12Monster 696 and Map 2 for the 10-14 Monster 796 (Euro Spec Only).
