    STATEN ISLAND U.S.B.C. INAUGURAL MASTERS TOURNAMENT

    RULES AND REGULATIONS

    THIS PORTION IS TO BE READ CAREFULLY AND RETAINED BY THE BOWLER.

    1 All U.S.B.C. and Staten Island U.S.B.C. rules and regulations will govern. All participants must:a) Present a Staten Island U.S.B.C. Association adult membership card from the 2008-2009 or 2009-2010 season at check-in.b) There is no average requirement for entry into this tournament.

    2 This will be a scratch tournament. All competition including qualifying, finals and any roll-offs will be scratch.

    3 FORMAT -

    a) This is a singles event.b) Qualifying will consist of 6 games across 12 lanes. Bowlers will cross lanes in a random pattern . One qualifying squad will be held Saturday September 12, 2009 at 1:30 pm.

    c) Bowlers will advance to the finals based on the number of entries received.(up to 25 bowlers 8 bowlers advance)(26 80 bowlers 16 bowlers advance) *A copy of the bracket will be available at siusbc.org(81 and over 32 Bowlers advance)

    d) The finals will be a Single Game Double Elimination Bracket. Bowlers are seeded into bracket positions based on qualifying scores.Qualifying scores are dropped.

    Bracket Format: All Bowlers will be seeded by qualifying pinfall into the first round of the bracket. Bowlers will bowl one gameagainst their opponent. Winners of each round will move to the next round in the Winners Bracket. Non-winners will move to tContenders Bracket. You must lose two matches to be eliminated. The winner of the Contenders Bracket will meet the winnethe Winners Bracket to decide the championship.

    4 ENTRY -a) Only a completed entry form and full fees will be accepted.

    b) ONLY PRE-REGISTERED ENTRIES ARE GUARANTEED A SPOT IN THE TOURNAMENT.c) Walk-In entries will be accepted based on lane availability. Entries should be submitted at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the squadd) All participants are encouraged to wear a collared shirt and slacks. No hats will be allowed.

    5 CHECK-IN You are required to check in at the tournament office one hour prior to the scheduled starting time.

    6 LATENESS OR FAILURE TO APPEAR A bowler arriving late shall begin play and the scores shall count beginning with the frame then beibowled. Entrant will receive zero for all frames missed

    7 DISCREPANCIES - A participant may immediately call attention to a discrepancy made in a score. Errors or discrepancies in scores must bereported to the Tournament Director within 24 hours after the completion of competition.

    8 FOULS - A foul recorded by a U.S.B.C. approved device is considered final unless it has been deemed foul was not committed or an inspectireveals device is operating improperly.

    9 TIES In the case of a tie for the last qualifying spot after the 6 games of qualifying, a full game will be bowled to break a tie. In the case of a

    tie during the Bracket Finals, the tie-breaker will be a 9 th and 10th frame roll-off.

    10 ENTRY FEESa) Entry fee is $100.00 per event per person. All entry fees must be paid in full when submitting entry form.b) Entry fee breakdown: Lineage: $21.00, Expenses $9.00, Prize Fund $70.00. Lineage for finals will be paid from expenses at $3.50 pergame.

    12 PRIZES / CHAMPIONS The tournament winner will be declared the Staten Island USBC Association Masters Champion. All prize monieswill be returned 100%. All finalists will cash. Additional cashing spots will be awarded in a 1 in 10 ratio. The Masters Champion will behonored as a guest at our Championship Awards Dinner-Dance.

    13 SQUAD DATES There will be one qualifying squad, September 12, 2009 at 1:30 pm

    14 U.S.B.C. TOURNAMENT RULES 319a2, 319d and 319e are waived.

    15 ANY RULES NOT COVERED ABOVE SHALL BE COVERED BY U.S.B.C. RULES. NO ENTRY FEE WILL BE RETURNED

    16 TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR RESERVES ALL RIGHTS.
