This is a bridging system used with the larger 300 and 350 sections.

The components consist of a C15015 or SC15015 channel and bridging ends assembled with LYSAGHT high strength M12 x 30mm purlin bolts.

All components are galvanised for long life and can be assembled using the recommended bolts.

When ordering, the overall bridging length should be specified, i.e. purlin or girt spacing, less 3mm.

78 LYSAGHT Product Catalogue – 2010 Edition

These pages provide some basic information on recommended maintenance of LYSAGHT® roofing and residential rainwarer systems.

For full maintenance duty, which forms part of our warranty terms and conditions, refer to the current LYSAGHT Maintenance Handbook, which is available at www.lysaght.com.

1. Access & Safety issuesWhen maintaining the roof, do not damage the surface of the cladding, gutters and flashings.

* Soft protection should be placed on any equipment used, where it impacts on the roof cladding or gutters.

* Do not walk on roofs (ie patios and verandahs) which are not designed for foot traffic.

* When walking on unprotected roofing, soft rubber soled shoes should be worn.

* Walk on at least two ribs, as close to supports as possible.

* Avoid scratching the surface of the cladding.

2. Maintenance Requirements & FrequencyMaintenance should be carried out at least every four months, preferably - at the end of autumn and the end of spring.

In the case of extreme events (storms, tempest or other ‘Acts of God’), inspection should be carried out and abnormal maintenance undertaken as required.

3. Gutters and RoofingTwigs, dust, leaves and fungal matter (debris) should be removed regularly from gutters, downpipes, leafguards, slots holes and overflow devices - as failure to do so voids the warranty.

* Sweep debris into a pile using a stiff, soft bristled brush (shovels or hard tools should not be used).

* The whole roof and gutter should then be washed down with a hose, including high ends of gutters possibly protected by overhangs, rain heads, water spouts, slots, leafguards and overflow locations.

For complete terms and conditions of warranty, visit www.lysaght.com

Guidelines for roofing and rainwater maintenance

Step 3 Use a soft bristle brush to sweep out the pans. Rinse with water.

Step 6 Ensure all swarf (drill waste) is removed from the work area.

Step 5 Use a hose to quickly rinse the underside of gutters and roofs.

Step 4 The roof cladding should be clean after you rinse.

Step 1 Roof with leaf litter and dirt prior to cleaning.

Step 2 Use a hose to blow away twigs and soften hardened dirt.

Roof maintenance

LYSAGHT Product Catalogue – 2010 Edition 79

As most of our gutters, downpipes, flashings and cappings are also made with COLORBOND steel, they also enjoy a warranty against corrosion to perforation ranging from 10* to 25* years depending upon the application.BlueScope Lysaght have been serving the building industry in Australia for over 150 years. So you can rest assured that your LYSAGHT warranty is your solid guarantee of product performance in years to come. For full warranty terms and conditions (including the

maintenance procedures outlined here) please visit:

Cladding and rainwater goods warranties

3) When litter is removed, the layer of hardened dirt is revealed below.

4) Rinse the gutter with water to soften and break up the dirt.

5) Use a soft bristle brush and sweep the dirt out. Rinse again.

6) When the gutter has been cleaned, it should look like this.

1) A typical gutter clogged with leaves, twigs & dirt prior to cleaning.

2) Wear correct protection when clearing leaves and twigs.

Gutter maintenance

* Warranties are subject to our standard terms and conditions.

With proper installation and regular maintenance, your LYSAGHT roofing, walling and rainwater system products will provide years of trouble-free performance - we guarantee it!Because LYSAGHT claddings are made exclusively with ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® steel, they are warranted against corrosion to perforation for a period of up to 25* years by BlueScope Steel. So you can rest easy under a roof made of LYSAGHT COLORBOND® steel. And because LYSAGHT rainwater goods are performance tested in our NATA-accredited materials science laboratory, you can be confident that they are 'fit for purpose' and will do the job they are designed for.
